You won’t be able to access a digital store, place them in your cart and proceed to the checkout. That’s because [Nothing](https://nothing.tech/) teamed up with [StockX](https://stockx.com/) to exclusively auction this batch in the “first-ever electronics DropX”. The more you end up paying, the lower the engraved number will be. So the highest bid will get the 1/100 pair and the lowest one grants you the 100/100. One of the biggest question marks as of now is: how high will the bids go? Contextually, the official prices are announced to be $99, €99, £99, and ₹5999. Described by the company as a “Blind Drop”, this “will be the first time Nothing products have ever been made available for purchase”. This also means that when the auction starts, customers know very little about the product itself so the bidding will be akin to a *leap of faith*. **Where and when** The auction - or DropX - will take place on the StockX site. I’m happy to see a hopefully-clicky button. Is that an LED in the corner? The carved placements of the earphones look like a mix of puzzle pieces and Super 8 cameras.

I’m still debating myself if I like the design or not; seeing the complete product will tip the scales to one side or the other.

Though, something is for sure: this product is a clear statement, setting foot in the market.

I see it more futuristic than industrial, it kind of makes me feel like it comes from the movie “A Space Odyssey”. Even the beginning of the Soundtrack fits. 🤓

After seeing the clear case for the first time I’m really excited to see the product design. Part of the reason I have my current earphones is for their clear design that allows you to see the internal components so this fits right into my tastes.

I think the StockX auction itself is a very interesting thing to see for a product like this. Likely taking inspiration from the “hype” culture that grabs ahold of influential people who need to get their hands on the latest products (Its related to the limited sneaker drops in my mind). I think it’s a great way to spark conversation and as a new brand it’s unbelievably important that the greater population learns your name.

Not only am I excited to hear more about the ear(1) and when I’ll be able to purchase, but also looking forward to seeing the feedback and first reviews.

We know it’s engraved on the case, but I would assume it’s mentioned somewhere else in the paperwork you get.

Perhaps it’s disclosed on the certificate, but that’s also closed and the customer doesn’t want to open it either?

I just checked and 54,815 Yen is around 422 Euros - or 360 Pounds.

Don’t have the box with me (at work right now) but there was a cryptic number on a sticker on the box. Don’t remember exactly what it said but number 38 was written on it. Also there was a paper/certificate from StockX in the parcel with the number 38 on it 🙂

Honestly, I don’t know if I would open them, hihi. If I remember correctly, you also got a retail pair, so this one can be an amazing collectible.

There’s literally only one pair “38” in the world. Just imagine in a few years looking back and see that, it’s a piece of Nothing’s history.
