I do have other headphones/ear buds that I can use but I would really love to consolidate everything into the Ear. You and I are wishing that an update will fix this Transparency (or lack of).
Community Reviews - Nothing Ear
I already received the new nothing ear and I will be trying these days
They received a firmware update that improved the transparency mode, although it can improve a little more in volume and clarity in my opinion
I will be seeing differences between the OP buds pro 2, nothing ear 2 and nothing ear
I will share my opinions in a few days.
Hi~ i’m trying to get my hands on a pair of Nothing Ear. In Singapore, but i just can’t get past the delivery page. Doesn’t seem to have any options under “Country/Region”, and it gets stuck there. Any help would be appreciated!
My question is, why would I buy a new pair when the Nothing Ear (1) are literally falling apart as soon as the warranty is expired? Is it correct to only have a 2 year life for something that should be a premium product and kind of still work fine but the ear buds are badly designed and are splitting in 2?
I’d like to have better build quality.
Hey! I am literally out of clue on how to use this advanced EQ settings on my Nothing Ear for the best sound output. To users of Nothing Ear, brothers can you share your EQ settings with me???
The Nothing Ear earbuds are a standout product in the wireless earbud market. Their unique, transparent design is both stylish and original. The earbuds are lightweight, making them comfortable for extended use.
The sound quality is impressive, with a balanced audio output that caters to a wide range of music genres. The earbuds support high-quality audio codecs like LDAC and LHDC, ensuring premium sound delivery.
The adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature is a nice addition, although some reviews suggest it could be improved. It’s worth noting that the ANC feature may alter the sound quality.
The companion app is user-friendly and offers a good level of customization, including an equalizer to adjust the sound to your preference.
However, everything has some pros and cons. It would be great if the company could do research and work hard to address these concerns in future iterations of the product.
Trying to purchase the nothing ears in Canada, but for some reason its not available for purchase. Will the nothing ears come to Canada ?
The chatgpt integration sounds very bad? The audio generally is very good, but the live chat in chatgpt has significantly lower quality audio being streamed compared to the audio coming directly from the speaker, which is very crisp and clear for an AI
I received the Nothing Ear a few days ago and i‘m quiet impressed how they work all together. The Sound: woah damn it sounds good. The only Problem i have with these is the Transparency Mode which isn‘t that natural as the one from the AirPods Pro. Will there be an update for it in the next few weeks (ik there has been an update for it)?

MaxBrunzel Latest update (1.0.1.43) should improve transparency mode, it’s currently in rollout and may not be available for you right now.
RapidZapper That could be it too, thank you
So I was on a plane 2x in 4 days and the Nothing Ear performed well with the ANC on high. I got about 4+ hours of usage ranging from just watching Youtube videos to connecting to the seat’s viewscreen via BT and watching a movie. However, power doesn’t drain evenly and the right ear piece died on me before the left. Overall, I’m still satisfied with Nothing Ear.
john_costin hmm, this is interesting. I’m going to check mine tonight at the end of the day to see if I have the same thing going on. I’ll post my finding also.
Dylan_B Very interesting, really. Super thorough analysis and lots of in-depth details. My experience with music (yes, those streaming files containing melody) is that sound of instruments is severely distorted, with wah-wah style corrections on mid frequencies, as if the hardware speakers were not up to the job and software really can’t make it to handle music properly . If anyone still uses earphones to stream music (I’m sure I am not the only one in the Community), try a cello solo to find out where the caper is. Equalisation does not help (of course), software-driven Bass Boost correction will in average produce a disastrous additional effect and all other features are there for other purposes. In short, my experience is that this may be a great sounding bud, but definitely not if you’re after music instead of calls.
I’ve had the Nothing Ear (2024) for 3 weeks now and I’m very happy with them so far. The only problem for me is the ANC. When you put the headphones in your ear, you hear (almost) nothing around you, which is why I chose these headphones, but after a short time you suddenly hear most of the noises around you. Can you tell me what I can do about it, but the headphones sit firmly in the ear. Thanks in advance.
MaxBrunzel have you done the various sound personalisation/fit tests to ensure it’s optimised for you? I found these little things helped me to get the most out of my ear buds.
Louis I did the Fit Test in the Nothing X App and it said that the Eartips fit great. Maybe it’s a Software Problem that the ANC isn’t that consistent sometimes.

Have had a couple of days now with Ear & on the latest update (1.0.1.43) - pretty impressed by them. I bought them because I misplaced my charging case for my JBL live pro 2 earbuds - another great TWS.
Compared to JBLs (from memory - can’t test side by side) - NC when listening to music isn’t quiet as good as JBLs but may be the earbuds fit? (see later) - hopefully, future firmware will match or better the JBLs? - call quality is better with Ear, it seems to cut out background noise batter than JBLs (JBLs cut voice as well when background noise is sensed which the EAR doesn’t - voice is still intelligible, even with noise in the background)
I found it difficult to get a green tick in the Fit in Ear function with the Ear earbud tips - had to use the JBL tips (also oval earbud stems) which brought the perceived NC in line with or better than JBLs. But one thing is that the music playback sound changes with different NC settings which didn’t happen with JBLs - the bass & general sound is fuller on high NC setting (probably not
Two features that I preferred with the JBLs - the app is very full featured & allows control over how much of your voice you want to be able to hear when on a call -Voiceaware so no ears blocked feel - the JBL earbud tips suit my ear cnls better than the Ear tips.
The sound personalisation on the Ear sounded great until I heard that popcorn sound effect in silent parts of the music - maybe my HF hearing is too weak & the adjustment too severe? I would love to see the frequency profile of my personalisation setting & be able to use it in the equalisation function of the app so I could adjust it myself.
This would be the only way to apply my sound peronalisation EQ settings in LDAC HQ mode
But great work Ear - very good TWS earbuds
MaxBrunzel I use High NC setting as the music sounds best on this setting & I always find ANC reacts to background sounds on a call & makes the voice variable
I had so much expectation from Nothing Ear..I am using a Nothing Phone (2) and was really rooting for high codecs as well as advanced EQ settings, hence I bought Nothing Ear.. However, after holding on this product for around 2 month, I have to say it’s disappointing at best…Battery life while using LHDC or even LDAC is so bad..And there’s this issue of not being able to use personalised sound profile while using LHDC or LDAC codec ..Then, the lack of support amongst the community and from Nothing regarding sharing of advanced EQ profiles since this Advanced EQ settings that I so much wanted is not for everyone..No simplified way on using it or a tutorial at least…
