Hi, I have a nothing phone 2 and just updated to 2.5.5 hoping to be able to record phone calls with the recorder app, this option does not come up when I creat a widget.

I’ve allowed recording for calls in my settings. And my recorder app is on version 1.8.6

Any ideas why I’m not able to access this feature?

The microphone is : a microphone…. It’s a recorder of the system sound. It uses only external mic. If your goal is torecord your voice AND the phone sound, you’ll need another app that do so.

Thanks for the feedback but actually the new update allowed the recorder app to record phone calls as well as the environmental sounds. Which mine does not, hence the screenshot in my post to contrast what it should be, like below 👇🏼

OOOOH ok I didn’t know that. Well mine doesn’t also, so it’s probably a problem in the Phone(2) variant.

You can report it here : settings > systems > feedbacks

To both of you its due to Google restrictions to first party apps.

I had the app on OS 2.5.1A and it never worked then. It used to work on NP2a and with countries that allowed such a service, Nothing have stop the ability all round as far as as I’m aware.

sudosmith same query i also dont have any option to record system sound only i was wondering the same thing but got no clue, btw i am also running the nothing os 2.5.5

sudosmith there is no built in feature to record calls as Google dialer don’t allow it. But you can keep a recording widget on home screen and turn it on while on call to record a call.
