The Customer Service team, if opperating properly, should be able to offer you a personalized response to ensure that you feel heard as a customer - it’s a shame that your early adoption and belief in the company isn’t being repaid with good communication.

Hey Rob, thanks for the reply.

After reaching out again about my order, I received an email this morning CCing the Nothing North America support team advising them to follow up on my case #. I then received the email saying my order was dispatched.

I have no way of knowing if my inquiry and the dispatch of my delivery were related or if it was already scheduled, but I’m glad that at least after some effort to contact them everything seems resolved.

Hoping the process from here goes smoothly. We’ll see how long the shipping time is. Maybe like @Cheetosdust my ear(1) will become a very well travelled pair of earphones before making it to me.

After leaving Poland, taking a lovely scenic detour in France and stopping for tapas in Spain, they are finally here.

Amazing unboxing experience. I saw the videos, but doing it myself, I could appraise how even the paper feels premium.

First impressions are really good. The pairing was done flawlessly, the update failed but it was my fault, hah, and the app is pretty straightforward.

Tested the sound quality on a video call in the middle of the city and it was a good surprise. They were connecting and disconnecting at the beginning, but hopefully that is gone.

I cannot wait to continue to test them so I can have a more complete and sustained opinion for the thread with the reviews.

For reference: ordered August 17, shipped September 9, arrived in Portugal September 15.

SteveW Many thanks - I can tell you that during these past few hours, those impressions were only solidified.

I don’t know if they’ll change tomorrow or ten days from now, but both earbuds discharge at the same rate and the battery life has been solid (always with ANC turned on).

After hours and hours of listening to music and video calls, I have never lost the connection while in a call and Spotify stopped perhaps 2-3 times.

Even with the dent on the lid, be ready to spend a few moments trying to realize the correct side to open the box, hehe. More than one time I was trying to open it sideways or upside down. 😅

And great news about you getting yours soon. I truly wish that after all these days and weeks, they are everything you are hoping for and then some. I cannot wait to read your impressions and perspective. 😎

PS: Do you have anything planned to listen to first when you finally get them?

That’s fantastic!

Believe it or not mine actually came in today surprisingly! Really busy day so not much testing yet.

Initially, I had an issue with the left bud showing only 20% charge in the app but with a quick firmware update that seems to be solved.

As far as first listen goes - I spent the afternoon doing some research and school work which usually I will listen to jazz while I do, and first impressions for sound quality are great!

I’m really happy a lot of us now are able to really dig into these and looking forward to new threads once everyone gets comfortable

SteveW Awesome news - like I mentioned before, I do believe that Friday is the best day to receive surprise packages. That way you have the whole weekend as the honeymoon phase, hehe. 😄

It’s so good to read that your first impressions are positive and that the initial bug was squashed with the firmware update.

Your post just gave me a recommendation for my next listen with the ear (1). I have “Kind of Blue” and “A Love Supreme” on my Spotify library. Time to hear how they sound. Perhaps a little bit of Benjamin Clementine during the weekend.

I completely agree with you, it’s great that the forums are getting more and more firsthand experiences with the ear (1). It’s always fascinating to understand the different perspectives to the very same product.

I did listen to the album during my Sunday morning walk and it was glorious. But the surprise was “At Least for Now”. If you have a second, just give “London” a listen. I adored that album before, but it gained a couple of new layers.

Hah, I believe this thread is perfect for this conversation. The amount of new artists that I am discovering thanks to this Community gravitating towards the ear (1) is a beautiful surprise.

Hah, it’s a very good moment to receive them as just the other day they were updated with a new feature, “Latency Mode”. Update away. 🤓

But how was the experience since our last messages? Back then you were having troubles getting a reply to your emails.

I had sent another email a week ago and I got a reply. I was also sent a $20 refund which was nice. I’m enjoying my ear1s.

As for the low latency mode, they work well when I’m watching a video but still don’t quiet get the job done with gaming. Test them out on this game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glu.baseball21

Whenever you hit a baseball, there is a big delay. Hopefully a future update can make this a little better.

I think that is not possible even with Bluetooth 5.2. Bluetooth still have latency issues. Unless you are in an ecosystem like APPLE or ONEPLUS. Their products are launched with the support of their own mobiles. If you even consider Sony’s high end TWS you get latency issues.

We hope in the coming generations of bluetooth they solve latency issues.

I don’t know if we have members from Malaysia on the forums yet, but this morning Nothing published a message on Twitter informing that it has started selling the ear (1) in the country.

As you can see in the tweet below, they’ll be sold through Shopee Malaysia and in “selected authorized retail stores”.

It’s also interesting that it’s teased in the message the expansion to more markets, with Nothing asking “where do we go next”?

Some months late to the party…

My ear (1) black are arriving soon! Hopefully, at the beginning of next week.

So far, my experience has been perfect, especially the nice touch of translating the site and all communications to Spanish. As a curiosity, the emails are signed by “Nothing España”.

They left the facilities on Monday, and they are taking a trip through Europe, courtesy of UPS, starting in Poland. Nice idea, to acclimate them to the cold weather. 🥶

Wow, so fast! What kind of magic did you do? Mine are still enjoying their journey through Europe. Arriving Monday according to the tracking site. 🛩️

Pleased to report that I received my ear (1) black today. Quickly downloaded the app and updated it. My initial impression of the sound was HFS!!! I’ll be honest, I really wasn’t expecting them to deliver as much power as they did for such little buds.

Previous experience of buds for me include the OnePlus Buds, which were my primary ‘work’ earphones just for video calls, and a pair of Anker Soundcore A1 buds, which were my ‘commuting/running’ buds and delivered quite a bit of bass. Nothing has ultimately just blown both of these away 😮

The case and buds are actually a lot smaller than I was expecting (which is a good thing). Plus I enjoyed the whole fast pairing and the comfyness of how they feel at the moment in my ears.

Looking forward to using these a lot more and giving a bit more of an updated report after some more consistent use. Signs so far are incredibly impressive, good job team!
