Das Firmware-Update von Ear (1) scheint das Problem der häufigen Audiopausen behoben zu haben. Ich benutze es jetzt seit ein paar Stunden, habe aber nicht eine Sekunde lang mit der Pause zu kämpfen gehabt. Steht irgendjemand immer noch vor dem oben genannten Problem? 🤔

Noticed a weird issue over the last 2 days, my left ear bud is taking ~0.5s longer to connect than the case/right which connect as normal.

This is annoying because if I close the case within these ~0.5s the left ear bud won’t connect at all. Not too sure how to replicate this fault as I’ve attempted a factory reset and updated the Ear-1 back to .81.

During this ~0.5s I get 2 notifications (provided I leave the case open), first to show the case and right battery levels and connected. Second to show all 3 connected.

If the Left doesn’t connect, I can still use the right, and if I put the left back in the case and re-open it later for ~0.5s, things work as normal.

I’ve been using these since launch with minimal issues (more recently more false removal detections) but this issue is messing with the flow I’ve had using these otherwise

Have you noticed these differences after updating the firmware of your ear (1) to the latest version?
Have you also tried “forgetting” the earbuds and repairing them with all the devices you use?

Hi!

I presume it must’ve been since updating given the issue only being a recent problem.

However, since the time of writing the post above, I updated my Ear-1 App and since then everything has been okay.
Not to sure what happened/how there!

My experience with Nothing Ear 1 has been great.

The sound quality and the comfort is perfect but i feel there is still a got of things to achieve from a software perspective.

Few of the points are -

The connection experience for connecting it to one device to another is not perfect. Almost everyone uses earphones with atleast 2 devices i.e laptop and phone. It can’t be connected to 2 devices simultaneously. So if we have to move from 1 device to another, we have to remove the buds and keep it in the case, turn on the pairing mode and then connect it to another device.
I use an iphone and sometimes toggling between ANC/Transperancy Mode on the app doesn’t reflect for Ear 1 with a beep sound and retoggling is required.
During a call, it is observed that sometimes there is a mismatch of sound of both units which leads to a sharp pause of milisecond for both the units to be synced.
When we pair it for the 1st time, it should be clearly mentioned to connect when both the buds are in the case otherwise only 1 earbud gets connected.
When connected to laptop, there is no option to change the different sound profiles of the earbuds.
Also while using it on a Macbook, the sound levels seem lower than then they are on iphone.

I think these are minute issues and can be easily resolved with the help of some software updates.

I was previously using a neckband style headphones which offered a double click button on the pairing button to quickly jump from 1 paired device to another and found it really helpful especially in WFH environment.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, super detailed.

I’ll be passing your comments on, but before I do that, there are a couple of things I’d like to recommend. Having tested with both an iPhone and MacBook – when switching from one device to the other, you can try:

On the iPhone, go to your Bluetooth settings, tap on the ‘i’ icon and then ‘disconnect device’. Then on your MacBook, open the Bluetooth settings and simply click on top of the Nothing ear (1) name and the earbuds should connect;
Do the above on reverse if you’d like to connect from your MacBook to your iPhone.

This way you don’t need to remove the buds and put them on the case, let alone pair them again, every time. You can just leave them on and get devices switched in a couple of seconds. 👍️

Hi Rudy, Thanks for the quick support.

Hate to do it to you but the connection is still not as seamless as I would like. Sometimes connecting and disconnecting works perfectly but sometimes we have to again and again toggle connect and disconnect.

On furthur usage i found out some more areas of improvement -

When we connect it to macbook, the playback doesn’t pause when we remove it from the ears similar to how in ear works on iphone.
One thing i have observed is, when we try to pair the earbuds taking them out of the case, we can see 2 nothing ear 1 in bluetooth pairing list and connection with either of them results in sound in 1 earbuds.
Bluetooth pairing works best when both the earbuds are in the case.
I have also observed that when the buds are connected to macbook but it shows connected on the ear 1 app on the mobile. This leads to confusion where the ear 1 is connected

These are minor issues that would result in a nothing like experience.😄

Thanks a lot for the feedback. In response to a few of the comments you made, our team has briefed me with a few updates on their work:

Indeed there are some compatibility issues with Windows and Mac systems. We’re still optimising this part, so please bear with us.
If the main earbud of the headset is paired for the first time and the other one is paired for the second time, separately, that can happen. One is the left ear and the other is the right ear, with 2 ear (1)'s connected. Something for us to bear in mind, as it could be an operational issue.
With iPhones, iOS differentiates the types of Bluetooth connection, so it’s recommended to keep the firmware updated as our team is continuously working on improving these settings.

One more suggestion

Iphone has a feature to an announce caller id on earphones only and it works perfectly with airpods. It does not work with ear 1.

It is a nice to have feature and would make the experience seamless for people who attend a lot of call with it as it would announce the name of person who is calling.

Without it, we don’t have any clue who is calling without looking at the earphones.

One more product update that could be included

Battery percentage of the case is not visible once we remove the ear 1 from the case.

Ideally we should be able to see the battery percentage of the case everything so that we get an idea that the charging in the case is about to be finished.

This can be achieved by asking the tech team to store the battery percentage data in the app when earbuds are taken out so that it doesn’t to bluetooth connection with the ear1 case.

[unbekannt] Im trying to figure out what prompts the notification. It seems to just be random to me. I’ll pay more attention to it today to see if I can narrow it down.

Weird issue over the last 2 days, I’ve noticed a disparity in the earbud performance.

The right ear bud sounds far more “pressurized” in my ear, uncomfortably so, with no apparent changes (i.e. ear bud tips are the same and have been since I received them). Additionally, the right ear bud is also far quieter than the left, meaning the total produced sound feels really unbalanced.

Has anyone else had any issues/experience? I am going to attempt a factory reset and see how it performs following that

Hey there. I’ve only had my black ear 1 for 1.5 days and I am seeing a battery discrepancy between the left and the right too.

Looking back through the posts it seems this has been an issue in this forum since August and there has been firmware updates to address, but it seems this is still W.I.P

I hope I don’t have a hardware issue but not discounting that yet .
