CMF1_hacker some of those are faults in NOS (haptics). I don’t like the other bits as I feel it will simply slow NOS down. I even like that they’ve removed features from stock Android.

Removing online searches (as HAVING AN OPTION to disable them) from the app drawer will slow NOS down?
Or having visible clock on the lockscreen with light/white backgrounds?
Or having vibration without sound(s)?
Or having no in-app camera lag, AKA better camera app optimisation?
Or having a toggle to enable true-black dark mode?
Brightness slider available on first swipe down (instead of second) is also going to slow down NOS?
Remapping the Essential Space key would slow it down?

I mean if you think that any of those would slow the OS down then - lol.

Explained multiple times in that other thread (and here’s a direct link to my comment on the matter, many other people explained why above and below my post), but you ignored it completely after seeing it so you are intentionally choosing to stay “confused” about it.

Mapping the ES isn’t viable as business plan as I previously explained as the number of units don’t equal the number of ES users. The same is true of the other ES. It forces all users to interact with ES² and keeps the number of AI users as part of the device portfolio at maximum. That’s was Series C funders want to hear.

I don’t see shutter delays in any app then I use, that seems to be an app-specific issue, unless you mean the app is provided by NTL.

Anonymous931 what I meant to say is that Google/AOSP/Android is not copying something from others when that already exist(ed) in Android, for many years at this point.

Example would be - why is there no volume slider in Nothing OS in the control panel/quick settings? But there is once you press any volume button! Why does a Flashlight only work on or off, why can’t you press and hold it to get a slider pop out and get adjustable brightness strength? All those features exist in Android by default, it’s just Nothing choosing to remove them for some reason.

Or this dumb crap - why does WiFi tile only work in 1×1 or 1×2, why can’t it be as Bluetooth tile 1×1, 1×2 or 2×2? (resizable in One UI, Hyper OS, Pixel OS, even iOS which is not Android at all… everywhere but in Nothing OS 🤷‍♂️)? I mean look at it, lol:

Actually I can keep going with this, I’m like a broken parrot at this point, just asking why EXISTING Android features - and they exist in Android since literal 5.0 Lollipop in 2014 - are being REMOVED from Nothing OS, but no answers. I mean it takes more time and effort to remove something useful than to let it stay, but we’ll see what’s coming with NOS 4.0…

And to add fuel to fire. Google is pushing it’s expressive design in our OS, which can’t adapt. Everything is huge and grey. Blacks are completely gone and it looks super ugly.

But if people are going to complain about a double-swipe-down for a volume slider (weaksauce) then I’m going to complain about something that worked well and was removed (rather than never implemented). We all have our favourites but it seems that I’m the only one around understanding Dev time is very expensive.

Nicouschulas not at all. It was already coded in NOS 2.6 and was cut. I have no choice to like it but there’a a lot of minutiae here boarding on irrelevant that people want added. simply buy a different phone.

Satheeshv_t If we switch off vibratile for call and put the phone in vibrate profile phone will be silent. By which we miss several calls.

If we put the switch on the vibrate for call and put the call in Ring profile , phone will vibrate along with ringtone. Which is annoying.

We really want “ringtone only” mode and “vibrate only” mode

So, in my case it is no different than that; I go to Sound and vibration, then under Vibration I have Vibrate for calls active. And it vibrates just fine WITH RINGTONE unless in silent mode when it doesn’t ring (sound/ringtone) nor vibrates 🤷‍♂️ All other phones vibrate in silent mode 🤷‍♂️ When I shift that toggle to vibrate only it mutes ringtones and it doesn’t vibrate despite having vibration toggled on for calls.

I looked at adding the clock back based on the NOTHING OSS files provided but decided it wasn’t worth my time and focused on my professional research instead. I can still complain about it unlike most people here that haven’t even had a wander through the OSS released by NOTHING ®.

I still think that the double-dot clock should be added back. Is there anyone else with me so we can start a proper petition!!!!!!!!!

CMF1_hacker All of these other things will just slow down the OS, increase loading time and just are useless customisation. I don’t want to load this stuff every time my phone starts up (animations, etc…)

CMF1_hacker All of these light or dark, see through/transparent windows, animations on the lock screen I just find gimmicky and remain curious why people want to add them to NOS

However, I should understand that most people will not have lived through that as they aren’t old enough or they simple want an Apple/S25U/etc but don’t have the funds.

Yeah, having visible clock on a white/light-wallpaper lockscreen, or having an option to not use online search in the app drawer is surely a major sign of desire to acquire iPhone/S25U but being prevented in that by insufficient funds.

How sad that the two people who post the most on this forum hate each other. It’s pretty miserable, isn’t it? Do you know each other in real life? There’s not much worth going to this point.

Anyway, Nothing should never remove small things that made users happy if they don’t really have to. Why remove this clock? It makes no sense. And obviously offering an option to have a possible contrast on a clock so that it is visible above any color is absolutely necessary and a basic request that should be corrected as soon as possible.

Regarding the need for a slider to adjust the sound volume in the status bar, I have read the link with comments, but I still haven’t understood what the interest is and the gain compared to the physical button, which is faster. It’s not that obvious frankly. Okay, it’s a plus maybe, but it’s less practical and less faster. So the only upside is if your volume button is broken ? Or maybe at night on your bed when you set down luminosity of the screen you can directly put the soung off too ?

There are great and reasonable suggestions how to make Nothing OS better just for him to be against literally every single one because, as he say, they would slow Nothing OS down and because, accordingly to his words, those suggestions are coming from financially poor people and their inability to get iPhone/S25U. His very own words. And when you repetitively ask him how would a visible clock on a lock screen slow Nothing OS down you never get a single answer for any of his claims.

Just like him disregarding the whole video here in the OP without even watching it because the guy has annoying voice to him, I mean that’s THE textbook definition of trolling.

It’s basically impossible to suggest anything on this whole forum without him coming with “I don’t need that, that is not necessary, only poor people would want that.”, lol.

Womey every app you open and check the theme, including the OS it says, dark or light. Not Grey or Light. So stop using greyscale or give the users most requested theme which is actually black theme with white fonts.

All valid points were made Zero customisation ✅ including lock screen and home screen layouts ✅ No dark theme ✅ Minimalism doesn’t mean stale and boring ✅ No camera updates for phone 2 which was promised ✅ Haptics is either all in or nothing ✅ We are just a startup won’t work for long if the company wants to make a difference. I love my phone 2 but it has insane cons. Which is why I’ll be switching soon. It clearly showed in the government released market share statistics in which nothing didn’t even make the list. It fell under “Others” 👍🏻
