Hotspot is completely broken in this particular update. It’s either 2.4 GHz, exclusively network channel 11 (90% of the time) or network channel 6 (10% of the time), and it’s virtually impossible to get network channel 1 anymore…
…or if it’s 5 GHz (by some miracle, if it even decides to activate on its own when specifically selected in the hotspot settings), it lands on:
- Network Channel 40 (80% of the time): Frequent, random disconnections for no reason.
- Network Channel 36 (20% of the time): The only good channel. It never disconnects or turns hotspot/itself off like it does on NC 40.
I’ve tried for hours to get anything else to work, like swapping SIM card slots, using only one SIM, using both SIMs, restarting the phone, shutting the phone down, and activating the hotspot both with the phone plugged into the charger and unplugged. Nothing works at all, lol. It’s 2.4 GHz 11 or 6 almost always, and 5 GHz 40 (or rarely 36) very rarely.
2.4 GHz is completely unusable for me on any channel except channel 1 (which used to be active 99% of the time when 2.4 GHz was selected, before this update). I get insane 2.4 GHz interference/signal clashing with my PC peripherals on other channels. As soon as there is any internet activity, my mouse movement completely breaks and the pointer jumps all over the place (the mouse itself is fine). Same with the keyboard (also completely fine, they’re not defective).
Also, it’s a total lottery to get 5 GHz NC 36 to activate at all. 2.4 GHz is limited to 144 Mbps, whereas I can easily push over 866 Mbps on 5 GHz (unlimited 5G on both SIMs).
And no, I can’t log this and send that report to the support, it’s physically impossible to log interference of my peripherals from a phone, or stuff on my laptop(s), like network readings, from my phone.
