What to expect during YEAR (2)?

Okey fellow community members… I sort of feel like the adrenalin and everything from community investment (2) is starting to drop off and I´m super glad that I got some shares during round (1) but also excited about a chance to top up just now.

This makes me wonder about YEAR (2). Obviously the OS is coming real soon and later the phone (1). But in the Nothing community deck the time-line for YEAR (2) positively confuses me a bit (I hope its OK to share this in the Community… if not I´m sorry and please remove it ). Also, sorry if this has been discussed in some other thread - at least I haven’t seen this…

As you all can see there is no question that the phone (1) is there to be launched during summer, but underneath it Nothing keeps on teasing with some Pokemon names… Under the headline YEAR (2) there are three different Pokemon names;

• Bellossom
• Azumarill &
• Anorith

Do you think they represent other products? Three key components och gimmicks related to phone (1)? Maybe the OS is one of them? I´m no pokemon fan or something but a quick search shows:

Bolossom

Green flowering plant Pokemon. “hula-hula”-dancer, creating pleasant sounds. It´s often seen dancing and chanting but is rarily found in the wild.

Azumarill

Blue/white bubble-patterned Pokemon. Some kind of Water-Pokemon/can easily camouflage itself in water and is “water resistent”. Is has highly developed hearing, both over and under water.

Anorith

Green/grey Pokemon that looks like an anomalocaris (some kind of old shrimp ) that made a baby with a scorpion. Also a water-dominant (?) Pokemon, how ever it seems to be extinct since 100 million yers and it cannot thrive again because of todays water conditions.

Summary

I really dont know what to read in to this - if any at all? But maybe this is attributes to phone (1) rather than products themselves? Maybe the phone (1) will sound heavinly like Bolossom, be water-proof like Azumarill and eco-friendly (carbon neutral - like ear (1)?) to prevent other spices to be extinct like Anorith?

Anyways, this has bugged my mind a bit and needed to write it down… What do you guys think?

This used to be my point exactly. How ever the more I think about it the more I see that this is more of an opinion from me “the investor” and a point of view from my holdings in Nothing. The reason for Nothing with the community rounds are not first hand to collect capital, I think they can to this from institutions as previously seen.

The main reason being to create hype, create a bigger fan base and so forth maybe its a better strategy for Nothing to continue with “first come, first serve”…

My suggestion:

I really like your proposal to cap an investment to the amount invested by existing investors from community round (1) this time. Given this is about 1,5M its not “that much” given recent rounds. BUT this should be done “outside” the 10M already announced in round NO 2 so that this is “everybody’s game” as Nothing wish it to be. I´m fine with this solution and at the same share price as series B. This would just be a token of appreciation from Nothing to give the existing investors a little chance (breathing room) to top up as a thank you for believing in them!

I can only second this. I think Nothing has the right mind set and they seem to be very goal-oriented. As long as these kind of news keeps dropping I´m satisfied and specifics/details will uncover over time. Like @Carl said; we belived in Nothing when it was nothing ( ) but Pokemon names.

Eventually the buds and the case actually did went out of battery and after that I could recharge it, pair it and now everything is back to normal again. Some kind of bug I guess..

hmm, that “reset-procedure” was new to me. I found on nothing.tech that the device resets by pressing the button for 30sec with the buds in the case and lid shut

anyways, they are back and I’m happy even though I’m quite disappointed that I haven’t heard back from their support yet…

Hi guys!

I’m have some kind of malfunction after approx 2 weeks of usage and wanna know if any of you have had the same…

so, yesterday my battery-level indicator for the case went hay-wire like I’ve seen happen. It indicated 1% even though it was almost fully charged. Then the left earbud stopped working (like it is out of battery and it won’t charge). The right one worked fine. How ever my battery level On the case sis not jump up like I’ve read happened to others, not even if charged. After that I could only use the right earbud and the battery indicator on this worked fine (and was charging when it was in the case).

I’ve tried to reset the device (lid closed, buds in case and pressing the button for 30+seconds) with no result. I’ve also tried to “forget” the device from my phones Bluetooth and the result from this is that I can not pair them again - my iPhone doesn’t seem to find the device.

In the app I can change ANC still, how ever only on the right bud.

So, friends, any thoughts?

The result of this is that I’m stuck with my AirPod pros, and oh my god I already miss the hell out of my ear (1)!

Similar experiences as mine

I constantly need to remind myself the price difference in my comparison with the airpod pro, I think that in itself is saying something about what Nothing has done here. If they can release some software updates to crisp it further I think this can be a good challenger in the near future!

I just got my ear (1) and wrote my first impressions in another thread, but maybe this is a better fit for it so Im pating it here as well. Hope you guys are OK with that!

Got mine today as well! (actually a day ahead of schedule). First impressions:

MISC

• Outer packaging could be more luxurious
• Product packaging is nice. How ever there is still a bit left to reach the feeling of unboxing (any) apple products
• The case is quite a bit bigger than the airpods pro. I think it can be slimmed, but I think nothing made the right decision to get the product out to the market rather than obsessing (?) over a few % on the case. I dont think the size-difference is bothering me. That being said I havent really carrying them with me yot so Ill save this one for later.
• The wight is another big diffrence, the case with earbuds is approx 10grams heavier than the airpods pro. The wight and size difference in the case actually plays quite a bit in favor of airpods. But then again they are >2x price, but I just felt that so far I havent really appreciated the round edges of the airpod case - and this makes a difference!

PRODUCT

• Theres a nice feel when opening the case, this feels quality. Also I like the clean look when the case is open. The earbuds are easy to take in and out - but Im gonna need some time to get used to how to put them back in the case. I love the little red dot which make it easy to put the right bud in the right slot, but Im not used to the angle I need to put them back in. It will come with time - for sure.
• Grabbing the earbud: WOW. This is what Im talking about. So far I think the airpod pro is ahead but now the ear (1) fights back. Even though its semi-transparent this is not something that makes it looks/feel cheap, rather the opposite. I honestly feel the ear (1) gives me a more quality-feel than the airpod pro bud. And this is big for me. Also I can feel and notice the ligther weight (4,8 ear (1) vs 5,6 (airpod pro) on my scale). Beforehand I was a bit concerned that the lighter weight would make it feel cheap but it doesnt. I love it!
• The pre-fitted M earplug was a bit small for me, and the L was easily fitted. Without really understanding why, I havent loved the “fit” of the airpod pro in my ear before (this is why Ive almost always use my regular airpods - changed like a week ago for a better comparison with the ear (1)). Now I understand that this awkward feeling is the “weight” the airpod pro puts in my ear. The ear (1) gives me nothing (haha) of this and I dont think its only due to ,8 of a gram lighter but rather the whole design of the earbud.
• Its a “silky” feeling in my ear wearing the ear (1) and I cant really feel it in my ear, its like I only have a piece of cotton in there and this is a huge difference from the airpod pro. It almost feel as if they are going to fall out but no matter how much I shake my head they arent going anywhere.

SOUND

• I havent really had a chance to listen to them yet and Im not that familiar with ANC in general. Mostly I listen to audiobooks and podcast if Im not working out and so far I think the sound is really crisp and the bass is there - even in low volumes

This being said Im really impressed with @changename so far. I think they have made the effort where its most important - feel, quality and sound, not chasing the last millimeter or gram in the case and maximizing the packaging. I can live with a big(ger)/bulky(ier) case because if anybody gave me an ultimatum right now that i could only chose one of the above for the rest of the year; I can honestly say I would chose the ear (1), and thats pretty cool!

Still waiting for my invostor-pre-order ear (1) as well. They are supposed to arrive on Thursday. Can´t wait!

But I had to buy another pair today as well as an “ordinary” customer, the purchase went through and they ships within 2-4 weeks.It will be interesting to compare the two purchases in terms of customer support/shipping times and so on…

In sweden the price was 1.190 SEK which trades 115-120 Euros but I guess thats some kind of forex fees or something.

Good luck everyone, now lets hope the actual ear (1) product is as good as we (at leas I) hope!

Haha, yes it takes some self control not to rip it open… I dont know why, but I just like the idea of limited edions even though I´m no collector of it or so. Just like the idea and this time with the chance to buy a pair of the first 100 units I had to buy them I dont know yet what to do with them really but I love the idea to have them as a token for my investment in Nothing. If its a big fail at least I have o fun memory in the limted edition and if it´s a success i might but them in a plexi-box or something

Wow, the first one - maybe so! Im surprised how fast I got them for sure I thought the ones ordered through investor early access would appear faster.

I’m gonna be honest with you, haven’t opened the box yet, can’t decide. But Im leaning towards waiting for the regular pair before I try them out!

I bought a pair on StockX, and also (of course) my pair from the early investor access. I live in Sweden and got my StockX delivered today by DHL. But still no update on shipping details from the ones bought las Tuesday.

I love limited editions, and I cant decide whether or not I´m gonna open these up, or wait for my ordinary ones Anybody else got their product yet?
