  • From announcing Nothing in January to launching our first product in July, we’ve come a long way. And we couldn’t have done it without all of you.

The launch of ear (1) has exceeded all of our expectations. We’re beyond humbled by your support and excited for more of you to experience our earbuds soon.

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that the first weekly restock of ear (1) for Europe, North America and Australia will be on nothing.tech on Tuesday 14 September at 11 a.m. BST (EU & UK), 12 p.m. EST (USA & Canada) and 8 p.m. AEST (Australia).

Following this date, we’ll also add fresh stock to our website every Tuesday at the above times, so there’ll be regular chances to purchase. Our shipping time will also be shortened to approximately 1 week, so we can get your order to you as quickly as possible.

Head over to nothing.tech on 14 September to get yours.

Those who live outside these countries will be able to purchase ear (1) with our local partners soon.

    • Have you recently received your brand-new ear (1)? Then you must download the ear (1) iOS/Android app today to unlock everything your earbuds can do! Keep it updated so you never miss out on new features and improvements.

We’ve recently released V.1.06 of the app, which gives you access to new firmware updates that make ear (1) even better.

Call connectivity has been boosted to make meetings a breeze. We’ve also strengthened ear (1)’s connectivity and sound quality in busy environments with lots of Bluetooth interference. That way, your listening experience stays rich and consistent, wherever you are.

      Here are even more improvements:

      • We’ve improved in-ear detection — ear (1) will now play a noise when you put just one earbud in your ear.

      • Battery display is more precise so you’ll never be caught off-guard.

      • The ‘Find My Earbud’ function in the app will now only prompt the misplaced earbud to play a sound out loud. The earbud that’s in your ear will stay silent to make it easier to hear and find the one that’s lost.

      • To keep things simple, ear (1)’s Bluetooth display name is now, you guessed it, ‘Nothing ear (1)’.

      • We’ve fixed other minor bugs to keep ear (1) performing at its best.

To enjoy all of ear (1)’s new updates, open the app, tap on the top right-hand corner menu and select firmware update.

Get it on the App store here and Google Play here.

            • Welcome to the Nothing Community!

We’re glad to have you with us, and excited for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you too. With that in mind, we’d like you to share a little about yourself with the wider Nothing family.

You can say hello in any way you like (although please do give the Community Guidelines a read first if you haven’t already) but if you’re stuck for inspiration, here are some starting points to help kick things off…

              1. Whereabouts in the world are you? We have a truly global team and global community to boot. We’d love to hear a bit about where you’re based.

              2. Let us know why you’re interested in Nothing! We’d love to know what your hopes are for this company and this community.

              3. Name a piece of technology that dropped your jaw. It could be the Walkman that got you into music, or the first phone you ever owned. What was the first piece of tech that surprised and delighted you?

              4. What’s your favourite movie quote, or lyric from a song? Nothing like a bit of cultural appreciation to get to know someone.

              5. Post a picture of your spirit gadget. It’s like a spirit animal, but with batteries.

These are just a few ideas, feel free to introduce yourselves however you like, though we would ask that you refrain from posting personal information such as your date of birth, contact info, or any other personally identifying information.

We’re looking forward to getting to know you all!

              – The Nothing Team

              • Welcome to the Nothing Community!

Whether you’re after official announcements, you have questions or feedback, or you just want to kick back and shoot the breeze with some fellow enthusiasts, Nothing fans, and members of the team, this is the place!

We want this to be an inclusive space for positive community development and discussion around Nothing, design, technology, and any other related topics. With that in mind, it’s important to maintain an inviting and hospitable environment for everyone, to keep the conversations here relevant, and ensure the forum is manageable for the team. To that end, please review the rules and guidelines below.

Thank you for being part of Nothing!

                • Code of Conduct - Members should post in a manner that is respectful, decent, and civil. If you disagree with someone’s comment, please do so in a polite manner.

                • Relevant content - Members are asked to publish and respond to threads focusing on relevant areas of discussion. Conversations that refer to inappropriate or irrelevant topics will be edited or closed by the community team or our moderators.

                • Writing guidelines - Please ensure that new threads have appropriately relevant and descriptive subject lines to allow for clear understanding for fellow members. While we are proud to have team members from many different countries and cultures, who speak many different languages, we’re keeping the Nothing forum in English for now. As such, members are politely asked to only post in English, and please note that the community team and moderators will be allowed to edit or remove threads that do not follow language rules.

                • Make use of the search function - We would ask that new joiners please make use of the search function before starting a new discussion. Other members may have already shared information or an opinion on the specific subject, and addressed the question you are about to ask.

                • Editing threads - The Nothing community team and its moderators reserve the right to edit, close or delete any thread at any time in case the content within breaks any of the guidelines.

We also ask that you follow our community rules:

                1. Be respectful. Disagreements are fine, toxicity is not.
                2. Racism, discrimination, bullying, harassment, hate speech, sexism, homophobia or adult/NSFW content in any form will not be tolerated. This also counts for avatars and usernames.
                3. No profanity, this includes imagery and memes.
                4. Do not spam or write in CAPS. There is no need to shout, we are all ears.
                5. Do not share promotional links, referral links or links to update files/guides, APKs or illegal websites/apps.

                15. Those sharing apps they have developed must make their work open source and have them on platforms such as GitHub to promote transparency and collaboration. Have fun, and welcome to the community!

                – The Nothing Team

              • Welcome to the Nothing Community!

Community members are encouraged to connect with one another and the team here at Nothing to discuss everything from products to design philosophies, the future of technology, and everything in between!

The community is split into several discussion board categories, and to help you get started, here’s a little overview of what to expect in each of them:

                • Nothing Community Guide: As you might expect from the name, this category contains all of the information you need to get started here in the Nothing community. Be sure to check out the Community Guidelines and the FAQ before you dive further in.

                • Newsroom: This is where you’ll find updates direct from the team on the company, our products, and information specific to this private forum. You’ll also find a welcome note from Carl, our co-founder and CEO.

The above categories are where you’ll find posts from Team members only. Underneath these are a number of categories open to the community – discussion boards where you can post messages, start threads and respond to other users. If you’re looking for a good place to start, head over to the welcome thread and introduce yourself. We’ve also got dedicated boards for the following:

                • Nothing Phone Series: This is a space for talking about our smartphone products. As we release more products, we’ll create further subcategories. You can see there’s already a few sub-category tags for Nothing OS, Phone (1) and Phone (2), use these to keep your posts organised.

                • Nothing Ear Series: Similar to above, this is the space to talk about our audio products, including Nothing X. Again, try to use the correct tags where possible.

                • Community Help: Have questions about the community? Want to ask your fellow community members about an issue with your device? Drop a message here.

                • Everything Else: This board is for everything else, including chat about technology and design, but also to share any community feedback and your ideas on what Nothing should work on next.

Please utilise the correct discussion boards for your threads where possible, it just helps to keep things tidy.
