Definitely online reviews if it’s something I know that I want to buy - a major purchase like a PC or a phone. I’ll do lots of research, and it sometimes takes me a while to work out what I want to buy. But I am susceptible to online ads too. I’m not terribly circumspect with my data, so I do get really quite accurately tailored ads, especially on Facebook and Instagram. It’s why I now use Smol for laundry, Dollar Shave Club every once in a while. I bought resistance bands and other fitness equipment early last year because so many outfits were trying to undercut one another through flash sales. So ads definitely affect me on an impulse buying level for sure. Even then, though, if it’s a brand I don’t know, I’ll head to Trustpilot or similar, and look for reviews to determine its legitimacy.

Game Boy was great. I had a bunch of those transparent N64 controllers too. It can look really cheap sometimes though. I’m curious to see just how transparent the design is. There are so many ways to take it - how do you play with transparency and still make something look amazing and not just a jumble of components.

It’s a shame that the world is in the state it’s in. I think the launch event for Ear 1 will be pretty straightforward. But I can’t wait for future ones. Imagine being in the crowd for a Nothing launch event in a post-COVID world!!
I do love seeing the things that more and more companies are doing with recyclable materials. Plastic packaging feels so unnecessary nowadays. I agree with @vikas too – put the product front and centre.
I don’t think it needs a community app until more people are involved or it goes public. I must say, I really like the small and intimate approach.
All of us here have Nothing in common
Something heavy. I’m always disappointed by the bass when it comes to earbuds. Maybe some Pendulum.
Xenomorphs wrapped in cloaks (but one of them has pinkeye)
Hey everyone! My name is Gabriel, and I’m from south east London. I used to be a big fan of OnePlus (though I lapsed after the OP3) and was intrigued when Carl announced he was leaving. I’ve been eager to see what comes next, and be a part of that journey. I think even though OnePlus isn’t what it once was, the ideas that began it all were bold and amazing, and I’m hyped to see where Nothing goes.
My favourite piece of tech was that Nokia phone they marketed off the back of The Matrix. It was so cool, just because it had a slidey bit at the push of a button. We had no idea what was around the corner in 199, we just knew that badasses in long coats wearing shades and doing bullet time martial arts had these phones, and that made them cool.
