  • Rob ⚡️ My absolute favourite addition to Nothing Phone in the 3a series is by far the Essential Space and Essential Key.

I am an AI developer and I am also quite active in the AI debates in my country and the one thing most experts including me agree upon is that the worst thing about the AI Hype is the imaginary need to put AI in everything just because you can.

I work for a company that believes in finding real life problems that we can use technology to solve, not find somewhere to put the latest tech to be popular. We recently found a use case worthy exploring, and that is practically almost the same as Essential Space. Taking a conversation and turning that into useful notes that can speed up the documentation process.

For me personally to now also have that one button away built into my phone made the phone so much more a tool that I use rather than a tool that uses me. I have ADHD and have tendencies of forgetting tasks, but being able to quickly note using my voice really helps that.

So as a colleague and a consumer, thank you for bringing the smartphones into the AI era but in a useful way.

(Like who even actually likes Gemini? I feel like it’s Clippy 3.0)

  • I love the AI functionality in Essential Space, funnily enough I develop similar systems with AI Summarization with Transcription and Summarization. I can’t divulge further into what I am developing, but a key feature we have in our application is that you’re able to edit the summary yourself. I think to really create value in the use of this feature is to open up for editing the tasks and the summary the application makes. AI will make small mistakes, which is fine, but let us do the final edit on them.
