I seem to be suffering from the battery issue with one earbud now running from 100% to zero is <60mins, by comparison the other is on 75%.

Nothing Support wants me to send back for repair, which seems unreasonable for an 8mths set of essentially consumable items. Why not send one earbud? Probably end up doing that anyway after a couple of weeks and meanwhile I have no earbuds.

It seems a shame, I kind of like the brand but prices are premium without the service to back it.

Merged 1 post from Nothing Ear (a) battery issue.

I’m using nothing ear a (yellow) and also facing the same issue..after 3 months of use right earbuds draining so fast almost 30 percent battery gap…so i contact customer support and they replaced it with a new one. But again I’m facing the same issue , after using 2 months again the same problem happening. I think ear a all earbuds gone through some faulty manufacturing process. I don’t understand what the hell is happening?. This is a very bad thing for a new company and also for a premium price earbuds.

Yeah man…i just don’t understand the problem…I think I have to replace it again

Literally the same issue. The left bud drains RIDICULOUSLY faster and drops to 5% when my right bud has still 65% charge left. Been facing the issue for more than a month, and if Nothing team continues to ignore this then regrettably have to switch to a different brand.

son_raghu Facing similar issue after the latest Firmware update. Both the buds draining really fast even when not in use.

Went to the customer service center, they rejected the replacement saying the issue is because of water damage.(To be honest no water damage of any from my side) They said that there is a green coating (because of water damage) in the charging probe of the case that’s what causing the battery draining issue.

And the funny thing is the case which they say “water damaged” is working perfectly fine. The buds which clearly doesn’t have any physical damage is having the battery draining issue.

Any update after recent firmware update?

V3.0-250114-1909 - earbuds issue fixed wriiten in the changelog (Phone 2a).

Exactly the same issue as others - my earbuds are not even 9 months old and I’m seeing the left earbud battery dying extremely quickly - furthermore never reaches 100% charged, only 90/95%. So annoying.

still facing this issue, and create an account just to point this out. why has there been no firmware update since october to fix this? it’s insane if this isn’t related to hardware and yet everyone’s running to a service centre for it.

Signed up just to reply on this thread too.

I’ve been facing this exact issue for a while now. Left earbud, same as in previous commenters’ cases, abysmal battery life - around 20-15 minutes both indoors and in cold weather. Factory reset didn’t help.

As a last resort, before submitting a warranty request, I decided to try and switch the ANC/transparency mode off.

Lo and behold - both pods’ batteries dropped by only about 5-10% in 2 hours while on YouTube.

Nothing Support Team, this screams “firmware issue” to me. Is it going to be addressed? I’ve only had the problem for a few weeks, but people have been posting about this stuff since autumn.

@adbo need you to escalate this, i went through nothing support and their only response was that i go to a service center.

I hve this issue aswell , kindly provide a fix

no fix so far because Nothing has decided to completely ignore this issue. the least they could have done so far was provided an update on their own testing.

I have only used it like 10 times , I have the nothing phone 1 , i really thought this would go well , couldn’t have been more wrong

After a night of charge my right one just dies and disconnects after some seconds. After reconnecting it shows 60%. 2-3 times and it’s depleted completely.

The left one just drains very very fast. Around 15 minutes of listening, no more.

    That’s nothing but a shame, Nothing…

Same problem as everyone on this post: following the update V 1.0.1.46, the left earphone that does not charge beyond 90% and that discharges faster than the right (drops to 0 when there is still 65% left on the right after 2 hours of use). I tried the reset as well as different settings (bluetooth switch, LDAC codec, ANC, in-ear detection, etc.) without results.

I observe, from reading the comments, that for a large majority of us, this has been happening since the update and systematically on the left earphone. I don’t think the left earphone has a different design from the right (different microcontroller or battery). So I think it’s a software bug induced by the update.

Q: But what have the Nothing devs been doing all this time?

    A: Nothing…

Founding this just before my Ear (a) delivery, so I should avoid any update, I guess.

i just got mine, and haven’t noticed this yet… but if i do i’ll come back and update

i started having this issue a few days ago, but on the right earbud. Similar to what’s described above in terms of max charge a 90% and then drops to 15-10% after just a short period of use. Firmware v 1.0.1.46
