Guys, my earphones finally got replaced! I texted the official nothing instagram account(not nothing india) few days back, and they told me to visit the official nothing service center in my city. That store had a technician and he checked the earphones, they told me to wait and after an hour they gave me a new unit i.e. the whole new case and earphones. So yes, I suggest you all to visit the nothing exclusive service centers nearby and get the earphones checked up with the technician. They didn’t give me the box though as I didn’t have the box for the old one. They told me the issue won’t come again, but I’m afraid it might happen again, well in that case I’ll have to either get it checked or ask for a refund.

AbhishekSriramula i did the same thing for now, and i’m discarding the popup for firmware update every time i see it. but surely, surely that isn’t the solution to all of this.

@Carl @adbo this is my second time pinging you guys in this thread because this issue is being faced by more and more people. there’s a genuine fault here that needs to be addressed. why is the brand known for its community ignoring the community?

I asked the service center person if I should update the firmware or not, because last time when I updated the firmware the left battery issue started. They told me, now you can update the firmware, and the issue won’t come again. But I’m afraid it might come again so in that case I’ll have to get it checked again and if the issue still doesn’t resolve then I’ll ask for a refund. But whatever it is I highly suggest you all to visit the official nothing store once as the technician checked up the earphones and then he gave me a replacement. The last time I went to a different service center which was just a nothing local service center and they didn’t have the technician, so they didn’t replace my old one. As of now the earphones are working fine even with the update. Also as soon as I got the earphones I purchased a silicon case covering for it, to prevent any scratches or dents.

i contacted Nothing support via the app , to raise a ticket. I pointed out specifically this is a firmware issue, so offering an RMA replacement isn’t likely going to solve the underlying issue. Maybe if more users do the same, this can be prioritized by the firmware team.

Created an account just to post here too:
same issue with my ear a. since i bought from aliexpress as nothing dont ship to my country i know i won’t be able to RMA nor get a refund. bought this in June 2024.

aliexpress seller is playing dumb and nothing says to contact reseller.
only a firmware update can save this but i guess nothing doesnt (Mod Edit) *care* anymore or the latest firmware update caused irreversible damage to the buds already….

this is my first and last nothing product. won’t be touching this brand with a mile long stick.

Just replaced my buds for the same issue, i aint updating to the latest firmware

Bought in June 2024 my ear (a) it was happiness! But in January I I thought I had a problem with accumulators, the right earphone was emptied in two hours, I see that I am not the only one! Indeed I had an update of the firmware in January, start of trouble. This version 1.0.1.46 is perhaps a problem, as we cannot reinstall the old firmware, we have to wait for the goodwill of Nothing which since January remains silent on the subject. I do not see any other solution than to wait, Nothing is falling in my esteem….

    The story continues

I contacted Nothing describing my problem and in response was asked to check:

    The application and firmware update

    Reset the case

Provide the serial number and invoice of these headphones

In response, I was asked to contact the shop that sold me these earphones, stating that this seller was not part of the official sellers of the brand.

This is a well-known network of shops with 17 stores in France….

So I contacted my seller, he would agree to make the warranty work but before, would like to contact Nothing to know more.

For my part, I had activated the noise reducer (ANC) upon receipt of my headphones in July and the autonomy was about 4h. From January my autonomy has gone to 2 hours. So I had the idea to deactivate this reducer and do an autonomy test and surprise my autonomy has gone to 6 hours ….

January is the implementation of the new firmware version 1.0.1.46. It is possible that the noise reducer has been improved in this new version at the expense of autonomy.

Personally, I now disable this noise reducer and use it only when noisy environments, train, car and urban.

    End of story.

And here I am back! And my earphones too…

Sent back to the repair center 2 weeks ago, they are back and functional (for the moment). The repair order states a replacement of the defective earphone (in this case the left one) and, indeed, the one comes back to me with a tip of a different size (so don’t send your tips).

The software version is still v1.0.1.46, so no firmware downgrade.

And I’ll finish by specifying that I didn’t pay anything 😅

i am having the same issue
i purchased it 6-9 months ago and now my right ear bud charging is completing in less then 30 mins and my left ear bud works perfectly fine what should i do now?

So this problem is still there?

Wanted to buy ear (a) with the phone.

For this battery issue, there’s no need to contact Nothing’s support through the app; their responses are generated by Artificial Intelligence. The only solution is to contact the seller from whom you purchased it, explaining the problem to them precisely.

In the meantime, do a battery life test with a full charge and by disabling noise control on the app. By doing so, I get a battery life of 6 hours, but the sound quality is worse. It is curious that noise control affects sound quality.

It would be interesting to know the result of your test in response on this forum.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my Nothing Ear (a) – the sound quality is absolutely top-notch! The clarity, bass, and overall experience have been fantastic. However, I’ve noticed that during continuous calls (around 1.5 to 2 hours), the battery drains quite fast.

I believe some software optimisation could enhance battery stability, ensuring a more balanced performance. Hoping for a future update to address this!

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Merged 1 post from Nothing Ear (a) – Exceptional Sound, But Battery Drains Quickly on Calls! Anyone Else?.

shalvaHM welp it’s standard practice among tech firms. technology goes foward and yesterday is history that should be forgotten or at least they act like it is. Even tho Nothing says they are not like this everything (hehe) points that they kinda are

BobLowmax i tried this method but my right earbud battery life only last half an hour or so. The ‘full charge’ for the right earbud maxes out at 95%, never gets to 100%.

TimChow A problem of accumulators it looks, made the warranty play near the seller

Created an account just to report that I’m having the same issue with my Ear 2024. Already tried all of the troubleshooting steps and left side drains twice as fast than right, and it also doesn’t charge past 90-95%.

Support has been useless, really disappointed
