Thoughts on small/compact form factor phones
Hi to everyone. I agree with your idea of a compact nothlng phone. I believe 5.4 to 5.7 inches would be great.
On the other hand, I understand that small phones are not a lot profitable right now, but they could be with a good publicity.
In my case, a can’t move one arm, I have a disability and a compact phone is really usefull for people like me, who only use one hand. I invité you try using your smarthphone with just one hand, no more, one hand when you are walking.
Right now, just iPhone, Asus and google have some compact phones, but the iPhone 13 mini is the most easy to use.
Keep in mind that compact smartphones are a great choice not just for the normal consumer, they are necessary for people with some disability. Sometimes we need un think out of the box.
I recently shared a Nothing Mini concept idea. Something to consider for the team.
Dear Nothing,
I am reaching out to express my interest in the potential development of a Mini Pro Phone with the innovative touch that Nothing is known for.
I have been following Nothing’s journey closely and have been impressed by the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology. The idea of a Mini Pro Phone aligns perfectly with the sleek and minimalist design philosophy that Nothing has championed.
I would like to explore the possibility of collaborating with Nothing to bring this concept to life. I believe that combining Nothing’s design expertise and cutting-edge technology with a compact, feature-rich Mini Pro Phone could create a unique and desirable product for consumers.
Specs like:
Sleek and minimalist design, in line with Nothing’s design philosophy.
Lightweight and pocket-friendly for ultimate portability.
A vibrant and high-resolution AMOLED display for stunning visuals.
Edge-to-edge screen with minimal bezels for an immersive viewing experience.
Compact form factor without compromising on screen real estate.
Powerful processor for smooth multitasking and responsive performance.
8GB RAM or more to handle resource-intensive applications seamlessly.
High-quality 3 rear and 1 front cameras for capturing sharp images and videos.
Advanced camera features such as AI enhancements, low-light optimization, and portrait mode.
Long-lasting battery to ensure all-day usage without frequent charging.
Fast charging technology for quick and convenient power-ups.
5G capability for lightning-fast internet speeds.
Bluetooth 5.0 for seamless connectivity with a variety of devices.
USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, would be great.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this idea further and explore the potential for collaboration. Please let me know if there is a convenient time for a meeting or if there are specific channels through which you prefer to discuss such proposals.
Thank you for considering my inquiry. I look forward to the possibility of working together to create something truly extraordinary.
display must be 5.5′'
Is nothing working on a smaller pro phone, if not should they?
I don’t why all company are making 6.7 or 6.8 inch phone , not perfect the pocket size and uncomfortable.
I suggest you focus on 6 inch screen phone with good configuration.
You will lead the market.
Thank you
Kamran Tak
I wanted to make a thread on a compact nothing phone for the longest time, but the question is how compact ??? We have iphone mini size, zenfone size, vanilla model iphone, S-series galaxy and pixel ; then we have 6.3 inch sweet spot, where the size isn’t too large, nor it is too small (for packing all the necessary hardware for the flagship). Right now 2 phones comes in this size Xiaomi 14 and iphone 15 Pro. Both phone pack great hardware, large battery, triple camera setup. Just 2 days back, Xiaomi 14 had a global launch and the phone is great, it is everything that a compact flagship can be, just one negative - Bloated HyperOS experience (which is not a major problem, it can sorted with few setups). Take Xiaomi 14 for instance, put NothingOS on it, get a transparent nothing back without any glyphs (maybe one or two for the identity) and boom, Instant hit !!! Xiaomi has partnered with Leica for it’s camera. Nothing came collab with Fujifilm and get fujifilm film recipes in their camera app. That way their camera problem will also get sorted.
I really hope someone from Nothing reads this and take some notes. If you call yourself a neesh brand then you should give this a thought.
(and one more thing, I like how you have gone for a minimal glyph setup with phone (2a), in your future nothing phone releases, keep it this way, keep the glyphs minimal, don’t make it a cringe fest. Your identity is transparency not glyphs. MOVE OVER IT !!!)
I hope nothing creates a phone between 5.4″ to 5.7″. Currently using pixel 6a only because it’s the best value for money compact option.I would still buy if it is a flagship product by nothing, but size matters!
Hi Nothing Team,
As we gone through some brands but rest of 2 or 3 brands only making the compact size phone like less then 6.5 inch screen and they are not pocket friendly.
Please make a compact size phone for those users like me in pocket friendly price.

NumDePlum Big words. Describing a compact phone as a “must have” at least testifies to a loss of reality. Almost no one puts them on the market anymore as there simply is no market (with at least a tolerable margin) anymore. Apart from that, I would also like smartphone manufacturers to continue to produce compact flagship-phones. But bro, this train has departed.
Iam planing to keep 2 phones, iam already going to buy S 24 ultra next month. But I also want a good compact phone use, which comfortable to carry ( which is hand friendly).
If there will be a compact phone then I will definitely wait for it .
How about introducing a smaller or compact version of our beloved Nothing phones in the lineup? A size around 6.2 inches or similar could be a game-changer for those looking for a more manageable device without compromising on functionality.
