Even if the design team couldn’t find or commission a similar font to replace Ndot, in my opinion Ntype 82 is NOT a replacement, it ruins the whole image of both the system and the Nothing brand. Ntype 82 looks very much like typewriter fonts from the 50’s and 60’s, it gives both the system and the Nothing brand an outdated, archaic look. Even using fonts analogous to Apple’s SF UI or Google’s Roboto would have yielded a much better result. It saddens me to see that Nothing’s design team doesn’t realize this.

In general, it seems that the brand itself doesn’t understand and can’t build its identity, such drastic changes in design don’t set the right mood, don’t add loyalty and confidence to users.

JohnSmith_4bSwQDzbQe That’s just your personal opinion….please do not make your personal and subjective opinion the general attitude of all people in this forum.

Personally, I think the new font is extremely fitting with the rest of the UI and I think it’s a right step towards a more mature appearance. Using NDOT in a more measured way is, in my opinion, exactly the right decision and I’m not trying to project my opinion onto everyone and everything….

AmanTamang Yeah you are right they should give a option for peoples who want to keep it in the settings as well as in setup of phone for first time

    i agree

please give us the option to switch to the n type font

its an iconic look and i really dont understand why theyre moving away from it

big fan of all the other customization options but please dont get rid of it completely; especially the lock screen and aod clock

for those who asking to have dot font, pls sideload it. this is not small thing that you will get options like that. if you really want to keep dot font, pls stay on nothing OS 2.6

this thread is just stupid, some like the dotted font some don’t. I personally find it hard to read the time on the lock screen after a long day of work. therefore and option to change the the font would be a better option.

I don’t mind that they want to move to something more readable, but it’s be nice if it was a choice. They could add a font picker to let users pick between using the dot font or the new sarif font. Hopefully they implement something like that.

hsrizvi it doesnt work like that. if they have to make option for dot font. they will have to specify where they want. and all. and theres too much text and all. its not feasible.

hsrizvi font in whole system and font in particular places are two diff things.
even you can sideload diff fonts without rooting phone. suppose you get dot font in every place. imagine how it will look in sms app or whatsapp and so on.

SHq well then good for you. go ahead, sideload it. not everyone wants same font all over screen.

Merged 1 post from Nothing, please don't remove the dotted font.

N…front needs to be in nothing os 3.0

It’s an iconic front style from nothing phone.
