Derren I bought a Samsung Galaxy S20FE in India (not from Nothing, I bought it in person from a Samsung store). I activated it in India using an Indian sim, and then used it overseas with an overseas sim. I did a factory reset in Japan and then used it with a New Zealand sim with no problems. In my case, the region lock was not reinstated by doing a factory reset, it remained unlocked. I just wanted to share my experience to show that there is no hard and fast rule, it can vary from device to device.
