tanxtr3m3 there’s always more to learn and I think this is just another teachable moment that if you’re going to be community focused then your focus should be inclusive of the community entirely not alienating a select few. Also I think if Nothing would have just been more transparent upfront in the details, it wouldn’t have been such a disappointment for community members who followed this so closely for months.

I’m still hype for phone 3 and their future products / project ambitions but don’t get me wrong, this one was a pretty big let down to watch unfold then unravel at the end of the official launch.

tho they really shouldve been more transparent i wouldnt have waited a whole month for the drop but ah well

There seem to be a problem the regex that’s verifying the emails and this is causing the “invalid email” error.

Looking at the console I get:

I was about to get the (2a) phone and bundle it with the 2024 ear but opted to wait for this edition. After watching the premiere on YT, now I’m really, really disappointed in Nothing mainly because of these reasons:

Out of the SEA countries listed above, my country isn’t mentioned though (well shouldn’t have expected this to be available, even the 2a+ is still unavailable here) there’s an opportunity for you guys to enter our market cause Iphone 16 is currently banned and OPPO (currently no. 1 market share) is getting backlash for their CMO response video to reviewers. You guys got free advertising from their video cause the viewers found out that OPPO were trying to copy Carl Pei and nothing by making reviewer response videos. The growth of the market especially in the mid range is remarkable here and your phones could get a nice share of the market (If you guys say it’s hard to enter our market i call it BS, Carl Pei was part of Oppo and 1+ which both are available here).

This isn’t a community edition with only 1000 units sold worldwide, it’s a Limited Community Inspired Edition (1000 units worldwide? You already did this with the Nothing 1, WTF guys? 🤪🙃). If it were really a community edition (which I thought was meant for your growing community), should be made available by pre-order during a certain window/time span for each country.

I think you guys make great products and designs. I also thought that you guys wanted to be available to your target users who appreciate design, but now I doubt this. I’m really, really disappointed and if you guys really tend to brand yourselves as limited and exclusive like this then I’m opting out of buying any of your products👎.

JovanAdrian If Nothing continues to brand themselves as limited or exclusive, whether intentionally or not, they risks losing much of the community that has been supporting their vision with both time and money. There’s a fine line between building excitement and becoming just a “hype machine”; when hype becomes constant, it’s tough to deliver on promises and avoid alienating and disappointing the very audience drawn in by that excitement. That is either a balance to be learned by Nothing or the very thing that destroys them long term…

Can we please address the fact that the wallpapers are AI generated? I love the project overall and Nothing as a company, but I don’t support AI generated images, especially if it’s a winner in a competition with so many great submissions made by humans.

Ali Fakhruddin how is it a learning curve? How old are they as humans? Above 30+ years i guess. How much of their lives have they lived in a community? Do they understand the meaning of community? Nothing community certainly doesn’t mean a group of people who live in a particular area, but a group of people who share something special about nothing. So why is it only available to selected regions/areas?

Congratulations on the release of this fantastic product! I feel this is a true victory for the community. My sincere gratitude also goes to the award-winning members whose efforts have made this possible. To everyone who applied to this project, and to the entire Nothing team—congratulations! You’ve accomplished something truly remarkable that no one else could.

While it’s a bit disappointing that Japan is limited to the Phone (2a) base model, I’m thrilled to see its release. Is the Phone (2a) CE limited to 1,000 units? If so, could it be that there are 1,000 units each for the Phone (2a) Plus CE and Phone (2a) CE, totaling 2,000 units?

The unit count may feel low, but this reflects the success of the community. This scarcity enhances its value and emphasizes the benefits of being part of the Nothing community. I’m sure those who truly love Nothing products are already actively participating in the community😊

This device likely won’t generate much profit. I’m grateful that they decided to release it regardless.

Looking forward, it would be wonderful to see the community continue to make an impact in the creation of other Community Editions, as well as upcoming Ear products and future developments🧪
