Phone (3a) USA network compatibility

Smart people, please help! How do I know what bands the NP3a supports? Does anyone know what USA carriers will support the NP3a? Thanks!

JeffOpsal Your safest bet is to be on T-Mobile when you use a Nothing phone in the US. I’ve had every phone they’ve made so far on T-Mobile and it’s been a really solid experience.

T-Mobile doesn’t block phones from VoLTE, WiFi Calling and VoNR as long as the devices are compatible with T-Mobile’s implementation of them. The 3a and 3a Pro do not have all bands for any of the main carriers. There is no mmWave at all. You can find all of the bands supported under Network. I believe the version being sold for North America is listed as Global.

Yes T-Mobile is your best bet. I’ve had the Phone 1, 2A and 2A+ on T-Mobile without issue. But I never leave the Bay Area CA where T-Mobile has really good coverage. So depending on where you are that could be a plus or a minus coverage wise. My Phone 2, has all the bands for T-Mobile and works everywhere in the US.

Thanks for all the replies! Do you think mint mobile will work? They’re under T-Mobile, right? I’m in Sacramento so hopefully I’ll have enough coverage.

JeffOpsal I can’t speak authoritatively to Mint Mobile as I’ve never used them, but I’ve seen some reddit posts saying Mint users have some success with Nothing phones. So with you being in Sacramento (a significant market) I’d say you should have decent coverage even if some bands are missing. Good luck!

JeffOpsal I am on mint as well. I grabbed a netowork scanning app from the playstore to see what bands my current phone was picking up on. I never once in the past week hit the bands missing from Nothing Phone 3a. So maybe that is good news.

I am in NYC so it will be different, but maybe you can grab the app and see what you are pinging.

The app I used was network cell info light.

Well I’m actually on Google FI, which uses T-Mobile’s network and my phones have all worked great. If MINT uses T-Mobile also you’ll probably be fine. I’ve been to Sacramento with my 2A before and it was fine no issues.
