JeffOpsal I can’t speak authoritatively to Mint Mobile as I’ve never used them, but I’ve seen some reddit posts saying Mint users have some success with Nothing phones. So with you being in Sacramento (a significant market) I’d say you should have decent coverage even if some bands are missing. Good luck!
Phone (3a) series USA network compatibility
JeffOpsal I am on mint as well. I grabbed a netowork scanning app from the playstore to see what bands my current phone was picking up on. I never once in the past week hit the bands missing from Nothing Phone 3a. So maybe that is good news.
I am in NYC so it will be different, but maybe you can grab the app and see what you are pinging.
The app I used was network cell info light.
Well I’m actually on Google FI, which uses T-Mobile’s network and my phones have all worked great. If MINT uses T-Mobile also you’ll probably be fine. I’ve been to Sacramento with my 2A before and it was fine no issues.
hi community! i am a huge fan and want to get one of the 3a / 3a pro but not sure if it works with my current network provider which is xfinity - (powered by Verizon’s network ) .
does anyone know if it works?
They have a list of all the supported networks and radio bands supported by both devices on the product page of their website.
To what others have said, I’m on T-Mobile with the Phone (2), and my network experience has been fast and flawless.
I’m switching from the iPhone 14 to the Nothing 3a pro. I have AT&T and I was wondering if the Nothing 3a pro would support AT&T 5g
SimeonWeaver Yes, depending on what bands are deployed where you live. The 3a and 3a Pro do not support all bands for any one of the big 3 carriers. That means, you could be or pass through an area that has 5G coverage, but the device will not support it because it lacks that band deployed in that region.
I worked with At&T to try and whitlist after I sent a support ticket to nothing. They AT&T rep was very helpful and told me that only the Nothing Phone 2 was Whitlisted. As I tried the new SIM card with IMEI different. I received a message this phone was not compatible on the AT&T network. I was able to make call and text but if I tried to use any location services such as weather or find a store near me, that did not work. I returned to my old phone and hope Nothing works to get this phone whitlisted. My phone was a 3a pro. Also i was unable to fing a US keyboard layout option so I was unable to use the % symbol in a password I had stored. Small but an issue.
JPM_Tech It’s things like that which keep me from picking up a 3a. I carry both Canadian and US SIM’s and I need them both working at all times. T-Mobile isn’t an iasue because a device doesn’t have to be whitelisted to work on their network. However, Canadian carriers only whitelist models they support and sell and disable VoLTE, VoWiFi, and VoNR from devices. My Canadian carrier, Rogers (AT&T) is very aggressive in trying to force customers into buying ohones directly from them. Before Rogers, I was with Telus and they were just as bad. They turned off my ability to roam for using a OnePlus 8T I had bought from T-Mobile USA and forced my calls to 3G. Canada’s 3G shutdown is repidly approaching and no whitelist will leave a Nothing Phone not able to make or receive calls because Canadian carriers will not provision the device for VoLTE.
I am wondering if anyone knows the process off getting AT&T to list your phone on the tested and approved list. I see that only the Nothing Phone 2 is on the list but the 1, 2a, 2a plus, 3a and 3a pro are not listed. I just purchased the 3a pro and am hoping it is just a fast release and both 3a models will be on the list soon. The one I found is dated 1/29/2025. I imagine they have a aprroval cycle and just not a team that tested phones sent in. Can someone give me some hope? I will post the .pdf link to their list for anyone who wants to keep checking like me. I went all in with the watch, open (ear) and phone 3a pro.

Hello there, I got my 3a Pro on Saturday, and so far I love it. Setting up the phone has been pretty seamless, but I have had a couple of hiccups.
For starters, RCS refuses to verify. Maybe this has to do with the phone not being officially recognized by AT&T, yet. Is there any word on that? I had initially gotten a text saying that the phone wasn’t supported, and that calling any number would connect me with customer support, but the phone has worked fine.
I’ve also had some issues with Google Play Games, but I have a support ticket in at Google to help me resolve that.
Does anyone have any tips or know of a way I can help solve these issues? Thanks!
EDIT: After contacting Google about my issues with the Google Play Games service not working, they suggested turning off automatic date and time, then turning it back on.
This not only fixed the issue with Play Games, but also fixed the RCS verification. I guess it forced the phone to reconnect with AT&T? If you have issues, I guess try this?

I am in Vegas and have AT&T and the 3a works fine. I did receive a message that this phone is not approved for the network, but, I have no problems with calls and texts and no other warning messages. I was a long term CHOMP sms app user and so happy to see that I now have RCS w/out having to own an Iphone. RCS works for me on AT&T.
doodnvegas the phone works fine outside of RCS texts. I thought about switching to Mint mobile, in case it was an issue with the phone being unlocked or something, but despite the 3A Pro being eSIM compatible, mint mobile doesn’t see it as such.
