Rob ⚡️ can you tell us the monthly cap limit? since it says ‘monthly limit exceeded’ so I won’t overuse just in case, so I could just stay on the free processing zone every month every reset. Thanks, I’m genuinely asking this for my sanity

Rob ⚡️ Nothing 100% needs to make this button remappable and also have more transparency around this. I will not be buying a 3a Pro until this is sorted out. I appreciate you guys raising the cap, but that’s a bandaid over a more glaring problem. The lack of initial communication about this is and even BIGGER problem again. It shouldn’t have taken people reaching the cap for this to become a discussion - it makes many of us lose a bit of faith in this company.

This Essential Key fiasco is turning into a mess

At least let us disable the button…

If you disable all the Essential stuff via ADB the button still wakes the phone… annoying

Oops it will be a paid button soon. 🤫 (🫢)

I always thought it was customary in polite society to say the terms of a deal in advance. Apparently not.

Rob ⚡️ If I had known beforehand that Nothing requires a subscription for the Essential Space, I wouldn’t have bought the 3a for myself and my wife.

I’ll probably sell it if that turns out to be true.

Planning to upgrade to 3A from 1. This is such a turn off. If the button is remappable, at least then it’s useful.

    Rob ⚡️

Can you be transparent and Iet us know what this limit is?

In future, can you rule out a subscription model for this feature?

Rob ⚡️ The limit increase is positive, but we need more trasnparency and information with how you guys are handling Essential Space. We didn’t know about the plans of subscription or limits until people started reporting these facts and that’s extremely dissapointing considering the image of the brand. We need more clarification on these elements and why this wasn’t specified since day 1.

Imagine paying for a phone then basically testing the essential space for free, acting as a tester for this feature.

“…and we are focused on refining the experience based on user feedback.” with user feedback they mean User Data!

pandaman777 wait, this isn’t all bad. If you can remove the essential stuff with ADB you can remap the button to something else. Currently if you disable Essential space in setting and attempt a remap it still triggers the screenshot part of essential space. Perhaps what you’ve done is the last pice of the puzzle I’ve been looking for. Can you please tell me what you did in adb to fully disable the essential space?

i think that the worst part about this is that if nothing lied here by not telling anything about the ES limit, they are probably going to continue doing this in the future. Kind of a bummer, because I am liking my NP (2a) plus and the glyph interface is amazing, but probably I am going to switch brand if this is going to continue

seems like you can disable but not reassign, and it would need root status.

and 3(a) users weren´t charged and are not being technically charged at the moment. So maybe my statement from before is a bit misleading.

samthemingo you need to disable the Essential Recorder app too

      That kills the screenshot function

Annoyingly the phone still wakes when the button is pressed, but I need to see if a restart fixes that (can’t do it right now as out)

I use Shizuku and Hail to do this. Can all be done on device with wireless ADB

Looks like Essential Space has its own ‘space’ issues—limited and running out faster than my phone’s battery! - BTW Phone(2) User Here 🗿

Rob ⚡️ what will the company do to resolve this current issue? let us remap the button?

JJJayYu You can already remap it if you disable these two apps via ADB:

Essential Space, and Essential Recorder - then use a button remapper app

Annoyingly the button still wakes the device after remapping

Mmmm yes that may seem to be the case. But it would also be nice if nothing implements a remap on their own without any 3rd part software

Sirefe The usage limits are fair and shouldn’t be a blocker for purchasing. AI processing is expensive and, they need to apply limits that don’t block the normal user but, do limit heavy use. I’d suggest 300 essential space credits user per month is significant use of the app - that’s around 9-10 uses of the app everyday.
