NothingOS - Passkeys
YazhamuthanAruchamy The company i work for is only allowing Microsoft Authenticator.
The total lack of attention to security with super late security patches and removal of basic functions like the option to add additional providers is starting to piss me off and reducing the whole “Nothing” brand to a gimmicky toys not fit for any kind of serious corporate use..

MagnusG Acutally we are the using that open source applications only in my father mobile Nothing 2a, still now we did not face any issues, still now I think it was good, Nothing may consider by using the open sources applications into their mobile phones I think only few peoples need for applications.
I have create an pleanty of lists for open source applications if nothing may consider that in the future upcoming updates like 4 or 5 like that If you need please refer the document I am proving below.

It would be nice with an explanation from Nothing.
Options under settings/passwords and accounts for everyone running Android 13 and earlier (and Nothing):
Options under settings/passwords and accounts for EVERYONE running Android 14 (except for Nothing):
Why??
It is not actually Android 14 for the Nothing OS? Just a revamped version of Android 13?
There is now an issue about this on Android issue tracker, looks like it’s also happening on other phones too:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/349310440
I’m surprised that this is actually something that OEM can turn off. It shouldn’t be, or does passkey require any new piece of hardware that older phones don’t have?
Oh! Actually got a proper reply from support, there is hope.
"Hello Magnus,
Thank you for waiting.
Please be advised that this issue is already sorted and will be resolved at the next software update. We hope that you understand.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
Best regards,

I’ve cleared my play services cache, google chrome sync just to find out that this is Nothing OS/Android issue. When we will get a timeline on fix for this?
Hey guys,
Anyone knows or can shed some light as to whether Nothing Phones will get Passkey functionality? Asking from a Nothing Phone 2a specifically.
Cheers!
Can someone who got the 2.6 OS update confirm that the Additional Provider option is solved?
So i don’t have to chase an OTA APK because Sweden always seem to be the last in line for the staggered updates.

Oh well i guess “Please be advised that this issue is already sorted and will be resolved at the next software update. We hope that you understand.” was a lie to get rid of me or 2.6 was actually not the “next software update”.
A little disappointed but not at all surprised.
EDIT: Reply from support, Android 15 is the “next software update” they referred to so i guess we have to wait until NOS 3.0 or venture out in the Beta world.
of course it is… I’m very disappointed in how Nothing has handled this tbh
mistral Bump. Same problem with Proton Pass.
Same problem, proton pass x Nothing 1
Android 14 supports using passkeys from password managers other than Google Password Manager, yet Nothing OS 2.5/2.6 removes this support and instead has the Android 13 password & autofill system. for example, when trying to sign in to AWS using my passkey stored in BitWarden, Nothing OS prompts Google Password Manager but does not present the option for BitWarden. when will Nothing OS have this Android 14 feature?
Multi device passkeys don’t work for me. Can’t login in Windows 11 using passkeys on Phone.
Nothing Phone 2a, using OS 2.6
Security is the only thing I’m not okay trading off for a phone that objectively is just a bad Android phone with beautiful design.
Very disappointed about Nothing, it seems that Carl was not the one responsible for the good days of OnePlus after all.
Because the software is so bad on nothing that’s just ridiculous, materials are cheap, and camera not that great…
