Dear [Camera Application Development Team],

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss an opportunity for enhancing our camera application’s functionality and user satisfaction. Numerous users, including myself, have encountered challenges with the current implementation of the auto Night Mode feature. While the intention behind keeping the user interface simple and intuitive is highly appreciated, there are instances where the auto Night Mode does not activate under low-light conditions, or fluctuates between normal and Night Mode during its operation. This inconsistency often results in images with noticeable noise, and at times, produces photographs with an unwanted halo effect.

Proposed Solution: Dedicated Night Mode Option

Enhanced User Control: Introducing a dedicated Night Mode option would empower users with greater control over their photography, allowing them to manually activate Night Mode in scenarios where the automatic detection might not suffice. This feature would particularly benefit users who are in environments where lighting conditions are complex or fluctuate rapidly, ensuring they can consistently capture high-quality images without unwanted artifacts.

Preservation of Aesthetic Choices: A manual Night Mode option would also allow photographers to maintain aesthetic consistency in their work, especially in series of photographs taken under varying lighting conditions. This level of control is crucial for users who use their photographs professionally or as a form of artistic expression.

Improvement in Image Quality: By allowing users to manually select Night Mode, we can significantly reduce the occurrence of images with excessive noise or the halo effect, leading to an overall improvement in the quality of photographs taken in low-light conditions. This enhancement will not only cater to general users but also appeal to photography enthusiasts who demand higher standards from their camera software.

Market Competitiveness: Offering a dedicated Night Mode will align our application with industry standards and expectations, ensuring we remain competitive in a market where manual controls and customization are increasingly sought after by users.

In conclusion, while the auto Night Mode feature serves as a convenient tool for many, the addition of a dedicated Night Mode option would significantly enhance the user experience, allowing for greater creative control, improved image quality, and educational opportunities. I believe this feature would be a valuable addition to our application, appealing to a wide range of users and setting a new standard for mobile photography.

I have come to realise software is really really so crucial after getting spoiled by OxygenOS for 9 years, 3 OnePlus phones - 1, 3T, 7T Pro.

After purchasing Nothing Phone 2a to replace my OnePlus 7T Pro, and using for the last 3 days. Here’s a few takes on improving, wishlist for Nothing OS.

Nothing 2a phone flaws* (subjective, me)

1. Large width wide phone screen estate. Unwieldy.

2. No back swipe gesture on keyboard onscreen area layout. Unwieldy.

3. No quick apps select and remove / delete from home screens

4. No quick select all, multiple open apps to close down w one click. Too much distraction, time waste, to find desired app, real-time, quickly.

    1. Please give an update to push an option to hide the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Give an extra swipe up navigation system like swipe from both side.

World Clock Widget more countries and cities needs to be added.

Example Saint-Denis in La RĆ©union (Reunion) for a start as I’m unable to add this to my world. clock

If you’re talking about the ā€œClear Allā€ button for recent apps, swipe all the way to the left and the button is there.

I use the screentime widget a lot, and I’d really love the ability to exclude certain apps from it. My goal with the screentime target is to minimize my ā€œuselessā€ phone usage, so I don’t want using video calling and productivity apps to be included in the total. Currently the number shown can be made completely useless by having one long video call or even just using something like Blockit for productivity, since it keeps the screen on with an AOD-like UI.

It would also give the widget some extra options!

Navigation Pill - I hate this thing at the bottom of my screen and it also isn’t like the IOS pill which covers the app entirely, instead it lays on a weird black bar!

Another Font - Roboto as the default font looks way too horrendous. Google Sans(Bold) is my favourite font and while I don’t expect that font, something bold and curvy is also enough.

Pitch Black/AMOLED Black UI - The grey UI is very sickening and there must be an option to enable Pitch Black UI. It would save enormous battery and won’t look bad like the grey.

2 Option To Choose Between Fonts Stock And Nothing Fonts

3 Remove Round Corners Everywhere Possible Straight And Sharp Corners Looks Super

4 Blink Only Small Glyph Lights Situated Right Top Bottom When Notification Arrive Which Consumes Less Battery

Yes Sir! Agree wholeheartedly 2 arms, 2 legs, (…everything else..)
Needs universal search in home screen. Search for contacts, files, folders and Internet searches. – Better yet, allow gesture to bring this up and hidden, 1 click gesture plzzz!! Make it happen! tyty.

Needs the ability to pin apps in the recent tabs to stay locked in the ram without closing.

Ability to change fonts! Google Sans especially. Maybe more color options in customization as well for the themes.

I got my first Phone by nothing, the Nothing Phone (1). Been enjoying it for quite a time now, but i do have some issues to discuss and suggestions to give

        • Issues:

        • Since the device is 3-4 days old at the time of this discussion the first issue i came up with was the heating issue. Now it’s not that worst but concerning, so lately I’ve been doing a lot of photography using it, after a few minutes it gets warm on the back and starts lagging a little like the animations get a little laggy. Although while charging it doesn’t get hot only in the start then cool all the way

        • Another issue is battery backup issue, so I’ve charging mobile steadily e.g from 20% to 100% without unplugging once, the battery lasts 12-14 hours with optimised usage of 1-2 hours on screen time.

        • Suggestions:

Although the Nothing OS 2 is very beautiful and stable but it needs some quick additions like:

        1. Please add View content on lock apps, I’m using app locker and it doesn’t show notifications content even after lock so I find it annoying to open app again and again just to check a notification, we basically can’t ignore a notification. I get the point of security but add separate option in the settings
        2. Please add more notifications ringtones, most of them are either very noisy or long and some of them are very quieter or short.
        3. Fix the level indicator in camera, even though I’m holding camera straight it just keep vibrating even though the indicator is red but it keep vibrating
        4. Improve quality of screenshots and screen recording, the screenshots have grainy pixels and screen recording makes the device laggy a lot and quality isn’t that great either

Overall the phone is amazing and beautiful in looks.

i recommended for adding Volume Bar Up n Down at the status bar

its will ease the users not to press the button so it can slide down then just adjust the volume for music users for better experience , thank you
