Here’s something that I miss from the pixel devices;

The ability to highlight and copy text from the app switcher. When I switched from the pixel 5 to the np2, I was baffled that this wasn’t part of the OS. It’s so incredibly useful.

I’m Nothing -2 user, as per your advertisements you guys intended to minimise the usage of phone and that’s why you created glyphs, themes and all right?

It would be great if you guys include the Features just like Sony’s Ultra Power Saving Mode, once it’s turned on it will simply shows home screen alone and let the user use the phone only for basic phone operations and it will give good battery life too.

Wish you guys include such thing in upcoming update..!

I hope the update that has the option to hide the gesture bar at the bottom comes out soon :-) like really soon, I’m talking to you Carl :-)

For more clean experience.

  1. Navigation Pill - I hate this thing at the bottom of my screen and it also isn’t like the IOS pill which covers the app entirely, instead it lays on a weird black bar!
  2. Another Font - Roboto as the default font looks way too horrendous. Google Sans(Bold) is my favourite font and while I don’t expect that font, something bold and curvy is also enough.
  3. Pitch Black/AMOLED Black UI - The grey UI is very sickening and there must be an option to enable Pitch Black UI. It would save enormous battery and won’t look bad like the grey.
  4. Back Tap - Pixel, iPhones and some other device support back tap which can be used to access multiple utilities like flashlight or can be assigned to any app’s function. The custom ROMS on Phone (2) support this feature!

There are more wishes but I listed them earlier here! I really love this phone but these features will make me more!

I use navigation buttons, so if you can make it like material or design it with inspiration of Nothing basic design will be cool. (hide the pil for all the brothers who use gestures).

Dear [Camera Application Development Team],

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss an opportunity for enhancing our camera application’s functionality and user satisfaction. Numerous users, including myself, have encountered challenges with the current implementation of the auto Night Mode feature. While the intention behind keeping the user interface simple and intuitive is highly appreciated, there are instances where the auto Night Mode does not activate under low-light conditions, or fluctuates between normal and Night Mode during its operation. This inconsistency often results in images with noticeable noise, and at times, produces photographs with an unwanted halo effect.

Proposed Solution: Dedicated Night Mode Option

Enhanced User Control: Introducing a dedicated Night Mode option would empower users with greater control over their photography, allowing them to manually activate Night Mode in scenarios where the automatic detection might not suffice. This feature would particularly benefit users who are in environments where lighting conditions are complex or fluctuate rapidly, ensuring they can consistently capture high-quality images without unwanted artifacts.

Preservation of Aesthetic Choices: A manual Night Mode option would also allow photographers to maintain aesthetic consistency in their work, especially in series of photographs taken under varying lighting conditions. This level of control is crucial for users who use their photographs professionally or as a form of artistic expression.

Improvement in Image Quality: By allowing users to manually select Night Mode, we can significantly reduce the occurrence of images with excessive noise or the halo effect, leading to an overall improvement in the quality of photographs taken in low-light conditions. This enhancement will not only cater to general users but also appeal to photography enthusiasts who demand higher standards from their camera software.

Market Competitiveness: Offering a dedicated Night Mode will align our application with industry standards and expectations, ensuring we remain competitive in a market where manual controls and customization are increasingly sought after by users.

In conclusion, while the auto Night Mode feature serves as a convenient tool for many, the addition of a dedicated Night Mode option would significantly enhance the user experience, allowing for greater creative control, improved image quality, and educational opportunities. I believe this feature would be a valuable addition to our application, appealing to a wide range of users and setting a new standard for mobile photography.

I have come to realise software is really really so crucial after getting spoiled by OxygenOS for 9 years, 3 OnePlus phones - 1, 3T, 7T Pro.

After purchasing Nothing Phone 2a to replace my OnePlus 7T Pro, and using for the last 3 days. Here’s a few takes on improving, wishlist for Nothing OS.

Nothing 2a phone flaws* (subjective, me)

1. Large width wide phone screen estate. Unwieldy.

2. No back swipe gesture on keyboard onscreen area layout. Unwieldy.

3. No quick apps select and remove / delete from home screens

4. No quick select all, multiple open apps to close down w one click. Too much distraction, time waste, to find desired app, real-time, quickly.

    1. Please give an update to push an option to hide the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
    2. Give an extra swipe up navigation system like swipe from both side.

If you’re talking about the ā€œClear Allā€ button for recent apps, swipe all the way to the left and the button is there.

I use the screentime widget a lot, and I’d really love the ability to exclude certain apps from it. My goal with the screentime target is to minimize my ā€œuselessā€ phone usage, so I don’t want using video calling and productivity apps to be included in the total. Currently the number shown can be made completely useless by having one long video call or even just using something like Blockit for productivity, since it keeps the screen on with an AOD-like UI.

It would also give the widget some extra options!
