I posted this on the other thread but I see this is the main one and wanted to weigh in with my humble thoughts here also.

I showed my wife the picture and asked her what she thought. She said, ‘Futuristic’. I said, ’Well that’s a positive’. She then said a lot of modern phones look the same and that it daemrd to be different. Looking closely she asked what the ‘circle screen’ on the back was. I said it replaced the Glyph thingy on my phone.

I said, ’if I had the cash I’d buy it’. I then showed her the new headphones and essentially she said the same, bold design choice. I said I agreed although I also said they had to sound good.

justadreamerduck Not sure what is so funny. We are all Nothing fans here - and the point is, we feel let down by the lack of “showing up to the party” for Nothing to call this phone a “flagship”… If we don’t tell them, they can’t get better at what they do.

The placement of these cameras and the glyph screen create visual dissonance that is hard to look at. I wanted to like it, but it causes a discomfort that’s hard to describe. Similar to dissonant musical notes. Of course, this must be purposeful, and maybe some people like the instability of it all, but it’s not for me.

Rob ⚡️ I’ve been bursting with anticipation for over 2 months while waiting for the Phone (3), and I have to say I’m disappointed.

If the design were more to my taste I would have snapped this up immediately. I personally just cannot get over the mis-aligned camera module! It drives me insane! I’m all for asymmetrical, but this is just not right. The lack of texture in the vertical bars under the module also do not sit well with me. I thought that I could handle the loss of the glyph interface, but the matrix that has replaced it is just so gimmicky looking. The only thing I can think up as to why this was green-lit is because you needed something BIG to get people talking about the company. This could be a calculated risk to drum up publicity in anticipation for future product releases perhaps? That is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I placed my order for a (3a) Pro as soon as I finished grieving. This all sounds very bad, but I really genuinely do love what you all stand for as a company, and I’m very excited to see what the team has planned for the future. I will be buying a pair of black Headphone (1)s soon, because they are gorgeous. Keep up the great work!

Rob ⚡️ Phone 3 seems like how much experiment we can do in one phone in its Design, killing the iconic glyphs, price, everything. While headphone 1 looks like a product they actually want to sell.

I am sorry to say this but the Price doesn’t make sense. In India it’s around ₹80K -₹90K.

Reading out the specs, 80% of the Indian market seems to step away from Nothing, above ₹65K doesn’t make a damn sense no matter what new Dot matrix display you introduce.

Doesn’t have the best screen, IP69 protection, Snapdragon 8th gen elite processor, which other companies provide at this price point.

In India there are a lot of companies which provide these specs on phones starting from ₹50K.

I am a Nothing Phone 2 user since 2 years, I guess or since when it launched in India and I was planning to buy Phone 3 as loved the leaked renders and the design was fab, exceptionally unique and subtle at the same time, but watching the price go up by ₹40K since Phone 2 I lost the intrest.

Yeah, I’m sticking with the Phone (1) until it can no longer do anything. And then I’m migrating entirely, even though I’ve got the watches, the Ear headphones, etc.

You have truly lost the plot. And don’t get me started on that design. The (1) and the (2) were absolutely beautiful. The (3) looks hideous. 9mm thick and 218 grams. What a brick.

Good luck with the phone, hopefully it won’t sink your company.

P.S. - your designers saиd that this is the phone y’all always wanted to make? Well, I’m glad you didn’t. At least we got a couple of great devices from you guys, until you completely lost your damn minds.

Rob ⚡️ Where is the official brand Film for Phone 3. And why did the launch event seem like a last minute decision instead of sharing the whole presentation at the place where the event was held. We briefly got any introduction to the features. What’s wrong ? Or am I missing something. The official introduction video for headphones 1 is up on YouTube but not for Phone 3.

Rob ⚡️ Sad but true, disappointed, I will wait Nothing 4. On the other hand this is a good news, no need to change my Nothing 2, saving money. Let’s give a chance to fix the situation with version 4, if 4 is the same nothing 🙂, then the transition to pixel is inevitable. Wishing the best.

I can see what they were trying to convey with this design — to keep the idea that they’re different. But to me, the loss of the glyphs actually puts Nothing in the same line as regular brick-shaped phones. The matrix display isn’t original.

I’m tempted to buy it as it’s so ugly.

However, I have a CMF1 that has been extremely stable that I’m still paying off over 36 months at 0% interest.
