SamarthNP1 alright thanks bud
Rohitkumar_yAs51QFDq3 Sorry brother I couldn’t follow much! well, let’s hope it’s not hardware related..
tho I wanted feedback from moderators regarding this…wanted them to acknowledge this!Rohitkumar_yAs51QFDq3 damn man!!
So it’s a bug right or is it anything else??
It doesn’t concern display issue?

That’s great to hear! I agree—the camera is the main highlight for me too. The periscope camera sounds like a lot of fun—hope I get to experience it someday if I get the chance!
I’m really worried about the display issue. If my screen dies in the near future, I won’t be able to replace it with another original one since Nothing doesn’t provide official support here where I live. So if this is leading to that, I need to know the signs early!!
Also, @Joseph_ixtone are you facing any other issues or just this? I want to understand if this is a bigger problem…
Lately, I’ve been facing a weird display issue when using Google (screenshot attached). The screen gets distorted, and I’ve also noticed frequent app freezes also screen being distorted like this or much worse. Apps like Facebook, X, Mortal Kombat, Messenger, and now even Google are hanging until the device turns completely black!
This is getting frustrating, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Could this be a software issue, overheating, or maybe something related to the hardware/display drivers?
If this keeps happening, what should be my next steps? Should I wait for a software update, reset my device, or check for overheating? Also I need experts comments on this!!
Really solid breakdown! Love how you highlighted both the standout features and the small trade-offs—makes it a lot easier to see the full picture. That camera upgrade definitely sounds like a game-changer!! That’s what I’m most interested in tbh
Okay, let’s talk about that periscope zoom. 3x optical zoom in a midrange phone? That’s like finding a unicorn in your backyard. I’m not saying it’s magic, but it’s pretty close. And the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3—maybe this time, it actually has enough power for gaming without turning the phone into a mini heater. Lastly, the Glyph Interface? It’s cool, but let’s be real—I’m here for that zoom. Also, can’t wait to see if the Phone (3a) Pro survives a few drops like my old one…
Reimagining the Nothing Phone (3) from scratch—metal, ribbed, and premium—its good to see the one of a design that is controlled obsession!

I completely get where you all are coming from. The power-off verification feature had a lot of potential, but the way it’s implemented right now feels incomplete, useless and almost stupid… If it only works when the phone is locked, then it’s basically useless in a real theft scenario where the phone is already in use and unlocked. What’s the point if a thief can just hold the power button and shut it down anyway? That’s a huge loophole.
And yes, I know some are saying, “It’s not a bug, it’s working as intended.” But that’s exactly the problem—it was designed in a way that doesn’t fully protect against theft, making it feel like a half-baked solution. If Nothing really wanted to make this feature useful, they should extend it to prevent shutdowns even when the phone is unlocked, or at the very least, require authentication for force restarts. Otherwise, it’s just another toggle in the settings that gives a false sense of security.
As for the Theft Detection feature—yeah, I’ve tested it too, and let’s be real, it’s not that effective in a real-world scenario. If the thief is quick, or if there’s no internet connection, it’s basically useless. Meanwhile, some old Samsung devices already have a simple but effective power-off lock built-in, no extra settings needed. That’s what we should be aiming for. If Nothing wants to make this feature actually live up to its name, they need to rethink how it works—because right now, it’s more of an illusion of security than an actual anti-theft measure.
I really hope Nothing takes this feedback seriously because if done right, this could be a game-changer. But as it stands, it’s just another checkbox feature that doesn’t do what it’s supposed to…utter useless shite!!
Kmlikhith24 report it through “Feedback” on your settings option!
rakeshkumarbgs65527 with the latest update! power off verification not working at all. It has been issued but seems no one cares…
Anonymous371 lol its alright btw it’s good that you changed your name haha

Anonymous371 I get your point, and I agree that the Nothing Phone is great well almost great with a good camera. But after the 2.5/2.6 update, the quality did drop, just like many users said. It still takes good photos, but not as good as before. Also, I tried to show some photos to see the difference with other phones! To me A55 and Nord 2 used to take much more better photos than Phone 1 before 2.5/2.6 update now it’s usually bleh…
I also agree that some people post random complaints without even trying to fix things. But I felt like you were defending every issue, even when there’s no real solution. Aside from that, I feel frustrated because the developers are not doing anything to address this (camera) situation and try to fix it with next update!
By the way, my three photos are original. I could not upload a couple other cz of photo mb size I guess!
@NexPG The first is from Nord 2, the second from Phone 1, and the third from A55!
Anonymous371 I never said it’s a bad camera but it’s not that good either!! btw, can you tell me which photos are from which phones?
These photos are taken from different phones, which I mentioned earlier! let’s hear you now and I’ll give you the correct answer later fr- (Edited)
Anonymous371 if not fanboy huh! then some moderators using a burner account??
I’ve seen your comments and felt like it somehow! I might be wrong but it’s either fanboy or burner…
Stefan I had OnePlus Nord 2 and Samsung A55 which were stolen and after that I bought Nothing Phone 1 in mid 2023.
I can clearly say Nothing Phone 1 is one of the best budget phone with lots of good and useful features than other phones if you compare but id disagree with you or any other fanboy on the Camera compartment!
Those Nord 2 and A55 were midrange as well but they had better camera than Phone 1.
