It’s never good when you run into more annoyances on your new phone the more you use it.
Today it was screenshot. Too used to 3-finger-screenshot on OP I naturally tried that. Nope. Can’t fathom why that would’ve been dropped out.
Tried power+volume button method. Nope.
Tried the regents screen method. Nope.
Won’t try the effing assistant method.
Now what gives?! Why deliberately remove a very useful feature?
MikaAleksandroff Screenshot should be by pressing Power and Volume Down (-) together. It used to require a 2-second press and hold to capture, but I think it is made instant in new versions of Android.
Screenshot gestures are a custom feature, and Nothing OS is just a newborn - almost stock Android. That feature does not exist in stock, hence not in Nothing OS right now.
You will likely also see a button in the status bar icons, if not, use the edit button to add it among the available icons.
singhnsk yeah, I know it should. On my (1) volume just goes down. And it also doesn’t appear in power-menu.
I can maybe forgive (for a while) that NOS is new and all but it’s also supposed to be about ease of use and fluidity and so on and this simply is not.
And I do not see any button in, status bar icons nor can I find any button to add there so as far as I am able to gather, it is impossible to capture screen on (1). Or at least on (1) with Nova desktop if that makes some difference (shouldn’t).

adbo ah, thank you! So now I know the double press must be instant, very very quick for screenshot.
Still prefer the gesture but this’ll do for now. 
We could also took screenshots from Recent Apps screen. But it don’t always work. Some apps need to use the usual Vol down + Power button to take screenshots. I don’t know if this is a bug.
Agreed I am using Phone(2) and need a SCREENSHOT GESTURE I am used to take screenshots by three finger gesture in my last phone and now it is very annoying to press the buttons or take the screenshot from recents it just take more time.
Please add a gesture for screenshot
#i would like to make a suggestion in screenshot gesture it is better make easy while trying to use three fingers to make a screenshot shot rather than using Power button and volume button or to use accessibility menu.. can nothing teams please make an update for this. It is more easy way to make a screenshot using fingers or to swipe the screen to make a screenshot. 
The way to do screen shots on Nothing Phone is the same as on Pixel phones, cause that’s the way Google does it.
de_paradox Currently, there is no way to change how screenshots are captured. I would suggest if you have alternative ways you’d be keen to see this happen, check out our OS Feedback Form or from your device head to Settings > System > Feedback
MikaAleksandroff it will be great if they can provide a touch based gesture to take a screenshot …. Something like swipe down on screen with 3 fingers or 2 fingers
Can I change the combination for take the screenshot? Or can I disable it? I mean… i make always mistake locking the phone…
Taking a screenshot is the same on my Nothing Phone 2 as it’s been on every other phone I’ve had going back many many years.
Power button+volume down
And would be great, to disable this screenshot button combination. 3 finger screenshot, is much better and avoids unnecessary ones.
3 finger gesture is a lot easier and convenient…
Please add this feature in the future.
