Market is very competitive now, as of now nothing has gave us not a single extraordinary thing as other brands are giving to their users.

5 year OS update for nothing phone 2 would be a game changer for this brand by doing so nothing would still keep the game on and can easily compete with OnePlus 12 R and Samsung S23 FE.

Stop justifying your glyph light by giving us useless updates because ur new updates and new features are not going to make your glyph trash anymore useful.

Last and most important thing USE AI as much as you can because if you don’t use it now then within 8 months your brand will be in coffin.

PardhanSingh Market is very competitive now, as of now nothing has gave us not a single extraordinary thing as other brands are giving to their users

What exactly are you expecting from a start up company? Remember that Nothing is only 3 years old, whilst the other brands within the market all have at least 10+ years of experience.

I would disagree with you though, Nothing OS alone has a lot of extraordinary things that other brands do not give their users, let alone the Glyphs found on the rear of the devices and their functionality.

PardhanSingh Stop justifying your glyph light by giving us useless updates because ur new updates and new features are not going to make your glyph trash anymore useful.

This isn’t helpful at all, if you want to give some criticism then please try to make it constructive.

PardhanSingh Work on your camera software.

As above, this isn’t helpful nor does it elude to anything. If you compare the camera across each update you will actually find significant improvements.

PardhanSingh Your new features should help every non techie person.

I believe there are plenty of new features that help a lot of people. This includes some of the new widgets, helping to visualise a lot of information in a user friendly format.

PardhanSingh Provide more useful features for school students, college students, for professionals.

Feel free to expand and elaborate by what exactly you would deem useful.

PardhanSingh Make your UI super simple and minimalistic so that an old age person can also operates it without scratching their head.

So what else could be done to make it more simple and minimalistic? I feel like Nothing OS is one of the most minimalistic UI out there within the Android market.

PardhanSingh Last and most important thing USE AI as much as you can because if you don’t use it now then within 8 months your brand will be in coffin.

What facts and evidence do you have to support this? I am a great fan of AI if it is used correctly. Nothing are probably already using AI to address certain things.

PardhanSingh TBH Nothing is very minimal and stock Android and it’s unique, user friendly & has a brilliant UI with super responsiveness. Camera is actually not bad either. The points that u are mentioning applies for all other phones out there especially apples and the other Androids. Nothing feels like ur using a NEXUS device if u know what I mean. Nothing is constantly providing updates and improving their product & software being a new company and we’ll knowledged in what they are doing.so allow it some time to pickup. If u expect ur points to be in nothing phone. Will all due respect you should consider other options that suit u and other genre of people. After all u can customise Android the way u want. Only thing I dislike about nothing is them switching away from Qualcomm. Not sure if they realise it. Nothing phone 2a is gonna come with a mediatek I believe and that’s going to be a big down side. As atleast the phone 1 had the best processor in the 7series. But sticking to 8 series processor is what nothing should actually consider. Nothing phone glyphs are not for all. It’s a feature which u can turn on and off. So complaining about it is not arguable as it’s an added feature and that’s not the main reason why the phone should sell. If people are buying for the glyph alone, then they are of the playful category mostly inclined towards the teenagers and early adults.. the ones who consider it as a feature are matured audience who actually look into the UX & performance. Infact there are many stickers out there which could turn the phones glyph for music visualization to a next level. Which some won’t find it interesting but the future has weired things in store and at that point nothing would still stand out. Remember the nokia 3220. People went crazy on it. And had custom ringtones to match the lighting. That’s a simple added feature. So people shouldn’t but nothing for the sake of glyph. Look into it as just any other Android worthy for its performance/ user experience/ battery back up/ screen quality/ network/ camera/ charging speeds(thankfully this has the same speeds of OnePlus 9r/8t thought it’s 45w)/ and the in hand feel and onehand usability…. Etc etc. & IMO a phone without AI is actually comparitively safer.

What you expect from a 3 year old company? it just started wait for more time until it settles completely then they can give 4-5 years. what will they earn if they start giving at the beginning itself!!!. They still did great things with NOS it’s pretty much clean with the customisation’s.

juelali he have lots of experience from Oneplus

Yes agreed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he has the exact same resource and team numbers.

kshitijsinha71 Nothing has taken a lot of hype and haven’t delivered anything that can be a solid win

So what are you expecting exactly that’s a solid win?

Look, rather than fighting and debating among ourselves is pointless. Both point of views are right at their place. And i believe that we should try to understand each one’s perspective. While i love the phone, its true that i also wish that there should be features that makes us love the phone even more. And 5 years seems like a good period for updates. And the fact that people are demanding this shows the expectations we have for this brand. So don’t go around saying carl pei or nothing is a new brand and is growing with struggle. Nothing was built with the passion to beat iphone. So keep your game face on👊

I agree with @Louis ☕️ Nothing is a new company. We should give them time to establish and I am myself owner of Nothing Phone 2 and I love the device. They are working hard and trying their best. And also Carl has completely new team. And also they provide us quick updates too. @Carl your work and products are great. Keep going

PardhanSingh Thank God someone pointed this out!

You’re right. Nothing OS really lacks on features which are available on all other brands, like spatial audio. I’ve put so many mails for suggestions and I don’t think they’re even being considered.

About the cameras, not worth ₹50000 I paid. HDR processing is unreliable and low light performance is inconsistent too.

There’s no way this phone can compete with 12R which is of the same price. 12R offers:

        Spatial Audio (big deal)

Customisation (like AOD styles, specific icon renaming, status bar customisation)

        8 Gen 2

        Super fast charging

        5500 mAh battery

        HDR on Netflix

        Proper gaming mode

        Dolby Atmos

        Smart cutout

        Alert slider

        Video portrait

        1.5K display

        Hotspot manager

        Smart erase

        Lock screen gestures

        Aqua touch

        IR Blaster

Network access management (can disable specific app’s access to WiFi or mobile data or both)

over the Nothing Phone (2) in 2024 at the same price.

I would trade in the Glyphs (which I do use frequently) in a heartbeat for something more useful like smart cutout, and definitely for spatial audio.

I like the Glyph Interface and the quick settings widgets of this OS, but this excitement weared off long back.

Also their customer service is bad. I raise an issue and the agent on the other side doesn’t seem to understand what issue I’ve raised and is telling me to perform actions which either I’ve already done or have no relation to this

One major problem I raised is about mobile network unnecessarily consuming the most battery, more than the screen and more than any app. The response I get is to check what’s draining my battery when that is exactly how I found out that mobile network is draining battery.

Genuinely considering selling this phone now and save a bit more for 12R if it’s camera software is better.

Phone already lacked haptic integration and now you don’t feel the haptic feedback while opening the recents screen. Bugs don’t get fixed! Even the issue of the lower part of the screen being unresponsive hasn’t been fixed.

Can’t recommend this brand to anyone tbh. Really had an expectation considering Carl Pei did well in OnePlus and with Phone (1). He should have just stayed in OnePlus in my opinion. That way OnePlus wouldn’t have had Color OS and we would still have an all rounder brand. (Though this is not a part of this conversation, just wanted to state my opinion.)

Having at least 4 or 5 years of os update for nothing 3 is a must if you want to market it as your flagship phone. Other companies are catching up.

since December there is no official stable update….only open beta updates when will you give stable updates iwaiting for features to use in my phone..scare to download open version

Louis ☕️ But to be Frank , The cameras need a great workaround. Front, Main and UW. HDR processing is worse. Sharpness and details are more to be desired. Even after updating to 2.5.2, it still bad for a phone that has such a great camera hardware and ISP. No hate on the team behind it but out of all aspects of phone 2, Camera performance is a lot to be desired. It doesn’t even have a HDR on/off toggle. A phone with a price of Rs. 10,000/- has it.

juelali carl pei wasn’t CEO of OnePlus, he only worked in marketing and Software department

I want an answer from Nothing. Why they are not able to resolve the HDR issue? I believe the screen is not enough bright.

PardhanSingh I agree with camera performance since super zoomed in photos just get over processed but the glyphs aren’t trash their honestly useful and super fun, I greatly enjoy have that touch of fun and nothing has the best UI. U miss the point with alot of things abt nothing. If ur a boomer go buy an iphone for same crap every year and then it’ll explode in 5 yrs. Features for students? What does that even mean lmao, the user experience nothing delivered is the best compared to most Androids and iphone. Really is perfection that aesthetic monotonous shade it gives to everything, I bet u use normal colours on ur nothing. U miss the mark with ur points, this phone isn’t like those safe play boring companies and it’s for techies not clowns
