I was very tempted by a Fossil Smartwatch yesterday… since they’re having a big sale at the moment - are you happy with the 5? Does it do everything you want it to?

    Rob ⚡️
Everything works pretty well, however the battery life is on the lesser side 😉
Charging time is also not that low.
Except that, its pretty well, but you can wait for the Samsung’s event - it has some promising leaks for the watch, especially the OS.

      Yash

Haha OK, I’ll take your advice - Samsung has some of the more compelling smartwatch options on the market anyway - so I’m excited to see some new ones!

Now that it’s been some time, I wonder if you’re still using your watch? I also won my OP Watch in a contest (perhaps it was the same one you won it?). I’d be keen to get your thoughts on the device now that a few months have passed and, assuming, updates have been issued on it to make it a bit better?

Louis ☕️ the navigation update is sweet. The watch has very minimal function, but it just so happens that those functions are all I use my watch for. I basically use it when I’m going out. I don’t really use it in the house unless I’m doing at home workouts and I want to monitor my heart rate. I also use it randomly to check my blood oxygen levels and monitor my sleep from time to time.

My current daily driver is the Snapdragon Insiders phone. The device is a power house and received a 133 DXO camera score and a 77 DXO audio score. Has 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of ram lol.

Thanks for the update on this. Interesting to get someone’s view on it. I agree that it is a great watch to minimal functionality, which definitely suits a lot of people. I think for me, if it added more 3rd party app features then it would probably be my go to watch also, as it does look really nice!

Louis ☕️ Think of that watch as a notification hub for your phone. The watch doesn’t really do much, that’s how it can get 2 weeks of battery life. It’s literally only an accessory for your phone. Nothing else.

            The things I use atm:

            1. Galaxy S20u
            2. Sony WH-1000XM4 / Nothing Ear(1)
            3. Galaxy Watch 4 classic

Next year I will probably upgrade my phone to S22u unless HTC will bring back a new phone… 😂

No other headphones beats my Sony in ANC. So no need to upgrade that. Maybe the new black ear(1) to upgrade my white ones. Depends if I won them too. 😅

Just got my Smartwatch this year so no upgrade needed.

            I somehow missed this post!

            1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

            2. Ear 1 B/W

            3. XIAOMI Mi Watch (The round one)

I would replace my phone only, if it’s really needed. (I replaced my Oneplus One 2019 😄) It runs everything super smooth (games, apps, etc) and it’s expected to get at least one new major version next year. I’m also able to use it for up to 1 ½ days depending on what I do and that’s more than enough for me.

Same goes for my watch. It doesn’t has all the Google stuff like @Antonio_Luis’s Watch, so no new apps etc, but it runs straight for around 2 weeks and the main use cases for me are: Time, Stopwatch and “Light”. Sure pulse, sleep data and such is a nice gimmick, but not necessary as I use my phone for everything else.

Kastello Awh huge respect for using that OPO for so long! Mine is still in a drawer somewhere 🤔

Glad to see this thread back in action! It’s great to see all the unique combinations of tech people use everyday.

                6 days later

I’ve been swapping between a few phones and earbuds lately, testing them all out.

                I’m currently using:

                • Snapdragon Insiders Phone
                • Snapdragon Sound M&D MW08SI ear buds

Partnering these together and listening to either Amazon Music in Ultra HD or Tidal with their Master quality is a pleasure.

I’m hoping that Nothing/Qualcomm partnership includes all the cool Snapdragon Sound stuff I saw at the Snapdragon tech summit.

I’ve also been pairing my OnePlus 9 with my OnePlus buds Pro talking advantage of that LHDC support with Oxygen OS 12.

When I leave the house I leave with my OnePlus 9 Pro and my Ear1s lol. They just look and sound so beautiful together.

Louis ☕️ The best thing to me about the Snapdragon Insider Phone is that it is made to show off all of Qualcomm Snapdragons technology and AI that OEMs may not be showing off.

Many OEMs like to put their own twist on things and sometimes this is good, but sometimes this is bad. The Insiders phone kind of reminds me of what the Nexus line was doing for Google and Android except this is for Qualcomms technologies and the Snapdragon SOCs.

When Qualcomm and Snapdragon create things, they don’t always have to be utilized by OEMs. They are kind of free to do what they want. So for me, the best thing about the phone is I get to experience Snapdragon in ways that I might not have with other devices.

An example that I can quickly make a comparison to is with the Insider phone and OnePlus 9 series. One thing I’ve noticed is that certain games and applications utilize the power and speed of the sd888 to it’s full potential on the Insiders phone running at the highest frame rates without being throttled. Where as on the OnePlus 9 series some games and apps are throttled to prevent battery draining or overheating.

Also OnePlus doesn’t utilize Snapdragon Sound or advertise aptx in any way nor do they use Qualcomms acoustic fingerprint sensor or Qualcomms Quick Charge technology . They use other technologies for whatever reason and it’s nice to see Qualcomm and Snapdragon showing off what they’ve been developing.

Personally I like both options in seeing the raw potential of the hardware and it’s intention, and I like to see the creativity that OEMs bring to the table. I kind of see Qualcomm / Snapdragon as the creators of the tools and the OEMs are the artists. Put the tools in the right person’s hands and you can make something beautiful, or put the tools in the hands of the wrong person and you’ll have garbage lol.

So this is Snapdragon basically being like….here are the basics of what we’ve been developing. OEMs, step your game up. Lol

                  Currently using,

                  1. realme X7 Pro.
                  2. Both, the Ear (1) 🤍 and 1+ Buds Pro 🖤.
                  3. realme Watch 2 Pro.

Right now am broke, carrying empty wallet. So, enough amount of cash will convince me to buy the 1) Top Notch Camera Smartphone, 2) Best ANC and Mic Quality TWS, and 3) I do not care to upgrade, as I just use my current Smartwatch only to check time (obviously), to receive Notifications, Call Notifications, set Alarm, Control Music and that’s it.

Ghost Ive seen a few people owning ear(1) and Buds Pro - how do you compare them? Curious to see who does what better

Louis ☕️ I use Buds Pro more.

Ever since I got em’, I’ve been using em’ only.

I love Ear(1) too, but my unit gives less ANC juice and the bugs are truly annoying at the moment 🙁 , hence I use it only when the Buds Pro are getting charged up.

                      Who does better?

                      Sound - Buds Pro.
ANC - Buds Pro (even ANC in Ear(1) has improved quite well! 🙌)
                      Buds’ Controls - Ear(1).
                      Aesthetic - Ear(1) 🤍🖤.
                      Comfort - Ear(1).
Battery - Of course, the Buds Pro.
Price - Ear(1) [the Buds Pro isn’t worth for it’s extra 50 USD].

Rob ⚡️ Currently, I have the following products:

                      1. Xiaomi 10 lite Zoom
                      2. Redmi buds
                      3. Mi band 5

These products are doing great with me but can change my mind if a Nothing smartphone or watch launches this year. Super excited for the future of Nothing
