  • Exactly what @Ealesy101 said. Amazing work, and you’re truly a credit to the community. I hope @Carl recognises just how damn lucky Nothing is to have fans/customers as talented as you.

I’m beyond happy to not be locked in that damn orchard as I was for so many years - and with a community and fellow fans such as @Dearrawat x Nothing it’s going to be an exciting future.

Froakie - #656 is where I made it to in my streak on the Nothing Discord, again thanks to @Daniel for setting up the streak system, enabling everyone to capture a new pokemon for each day they hold their streak, working your way up from Bulbasaur!

I wrote a post at the one-year mark of my streak, 365 Streak. I did this because I had been holding my streak since the streak system was implemented, which meant that I and a few others were the cap on the whole thing 😆 I wrote about where Nothing was and what we were looking forward to in the community.

Now, ~291 days later, I thought I’d do something similar. I had planned to do this at the two-year mark, but a bad day and a severe case of brain fog meant I lost my streak! I’m going to take this as an opportunity to get more involved when I am; I fell into days of just sending “good morning chat” to keep my streak, but not engaging much more than that. @Derren expressed losing the streak as liberating, and I think I feel similar. The Discord and Nothing Community forum feel more like a place for me to share my opinion, rather than engaging for a streak’s sake, so while I may not post every day, I’ll try and be more engaged when I am online, post more in #Food&Drink, write up my thoughts on Nothing.Community more and maybe even try my hand at some photography!

So, Ear and Ear(a) launched, @RohitPakalapati was our newly appointed CBO (who did a stellar job!) and we were all awaiting details of the Community Edition Phone(2a). What we didn’t know was CMF Phone(1), Nothing Phone(2a) Plus, Nothing Apparel Drop 2, Ear(Open) were all yet to come! (I’m sure I’ve missed some things in there). Another thing to callout is NOS3.0! I think the software on all the devices has grown massively and we’re now starting to see exciting features like Essential Space that will hopefully set Nothing apart from the rest of the Android market!

With @adbo now at the CBO helm, Phone(3a) having just launched, Phone(3a) Pro coming this weekend, I’m eager to see what comes of 2025, but also for the rest of the streak holders going strong! @Louis ☕️ @MachoNachoBot and @WarBringer are breaking new ground, @Ealesy101 and others hot on their heels keeping them accountable! I’ll still be in the discord and here, but free of my streak, I’m going to try and contribute better each time 🎆

    • Connor What are you missing if you don’t have iMessage?, I have been using Android for aeons and unless you download apps that are from nefarious sites as stated by @Ealesy101

Both ecosystems help you achieve everything that you would need to do on a phone on a daily. It’s like getting used to the indicator stalk either being on the left or the right.

    • @robin_ True! But in today’s competitive race, everything gets copied easily to outsmart the competition. I am still glad that this community listens to every single request which is far better than any other brand experience.

@Ealesy101 I am aware of it as I was one of the few who requested the snake dot game earlier but only rahul got the credit for that idea which is fine as the game is rolling out which is my only wish and the team could bring out more like the brick smasher, N-Dot Tetris, Space Invaders, Labyrinth games all using the Dot formula. I also acknowledge that Nothing team didn’t own the dot thing. My only wish was if only Nothing could bring it out a little sooner than others, that could have become a game changer!

@Sharath_0-8 I agree what you said, I was only wishing this from Nothing before anyone else made it.

@nikhilverma1420 That is a very good idea! Can’t wait to see this in my phone too!

@Peruna Yes! I am well aware about the game, as I am among the first few who requested it months ago.

    • Thanks for putting it out @RohitPakalapati 🙌

My pain points and blockers would be finding and managing time from work. Massive respect for the community members who work in different domains and balance their time for nothing 🤩.

Further to what @Rahul and @Ealesy101 shared, I would add a few more points:

      • If anyone wants to start a collaborative project, would be great to put it out at the concept stage and build the team before the project begins.
      • There is a lot of potential to these concepts and provided done right and get inputs from member’s experience, we can maybe get the projects production ready.
      • This way we filter out our skills and get in touch according to our area of interest. Could get messy but at least allows us to know some good potential in the community.

I was working with @Ali Fakhruddin for the Ndial app unfortunately, because of work commitments could not contribute much but grateful for the experience. I learned a lot from the short time I spent working with him and the team, would appreciate more of such opportunities.

Maybe we can make this a project to discuss a community LinkedIn 😅

    • @Louis ☕️ @Ealesy101 Wait. It seems like either of you guys didn’t understand what was originally said or you didn’t read it at all. And some of the above message is taking some of the stuff I said out of context. I did not say anything negative towards @Louis ☕️ and I did not violate any community guidelines. I also did not specifically mention any entry in my original comment or called it bad. It has all been respectful on my end.

Please refer the original comment and check the thread - stealth

In my original comment, I provided a solution and later in conversation with Louis referenced Rahil’s design as a great example of meeting the brief’s requirements. It is important to read and understand the brief, which clearly states (in the very second line actually) the need for a packaging design that makes a wonderful FIRST impression and represents the product effectively.

I believe that the glow-in-the-dark designs may not effectively convey a wonderful first impression as they require a dark environment to be completely seen. The solution, in my opinion, lies in simplicity.

Regarding the “special” feel for the box, this is not the special edition. This is the “community edition” I suggest incorporating elements that highlight the contributions of the community, similar to Rahil’s design with the representation of the community stages as he has done on the back of the box. Alek has done something of the sort too.

I just wish more submissions would focus on what actually is important here.

Overall, I believe that a focus on simplicity and incorporating community elements will lead to a more effective and impactful packaging design for the product instead of “Hold the box in the dark and see the other side” kind of designs.

I would love to end this here as well. My point was already made in the first comment. But this was taken very differently than what was intended.

    • @Ealesy101

Yes, Louis and your replies have been really inviting of opinions and all the active engagement in the community. I cannot agree more on that, I believe it would be better to lock replies on threads like these and allow replies only from people who have submitted a entry, even if its some ai generated text concept. That would really sum up the community driven facade of the brand.

It is clear that what @stealth has shared is an important opinion. It will help people decide on what would be real-world, feasible and cost effective choice and my replies show that I agree with that.

Still dont see how those opinions would translate to “remove the entire design concepts of those submissions already made”

Ealesy101 This is entirely the end goal of a discussion, no? What is the point of shouting “this is bad” into the void, it benefits no one.

Yes, I agree with you are. Shouting “this is bad” into the void benefits no one. It is better to not reply or share any thought or whatsoever if its not going to benefit anyone. Good catch. What @stealth started was a discussion, which would eventually lead to one such “end goal” and not start from the end goal. That is how discussions work, I believe.

I have not disrespected any moderators.

Yes leave the discussion here and let’s ensure that nobody else dares to share their opinion about the current submissions unless they are qualified to do so.

    • @Ealesy101 If I block the camera access as you suggested, it blocks the access for complete device. As soon as the camera access is enabled for using other apps like camera or anything, the phone call app starts using My camera access despite the phone app not running in the background anywhere.

Means, disabling camera access doesn’t take access from the phone app in anyway. It just gets off for whole device as obvious and phone call starts using the camera as the camera access to device is enabled.

Please check the screen recording attached and find a solution to this. Thank you

      • On Saturday I went down to the Nothing Store in Soho, London to see #THE100 Drop and get my hands on the Phone(2a)! I arrived ~10 am to space #5 in the queue and quickly got chatting to those there before me! #1 was a chap by the Discord name of “Butters” (I believe that’s what he said), who had travelled from Swansea to secure his place in line! I love that dedication 💓

Not long after I arrived, the wonderful @Ealesy101 made an early appearance for a good catch-up in eagerness for the big launch day! Always a delight to see you and we need to grab a drink soon 🍻

At 11 am, the store opened its doors for customers who were after the new CMF products, or to go downstairs for the photoshoot with Phone(2a). However, any entrants would rejoin the ever-growing queue from the back, not taking the risk myself, I waited, but Ryan popped in to get a photo and might share it below! Harvey and Louis from the store kept popping out into the queue, checking in with everyone and fueling the anticipation by showing off the differences between White and Milk Phone(2a)s

@Allelujah was next to say hey! Bringing the chaos of Dynamite to the line, which after some reviews I had heard, I was excited to try! ☕️ The zero-sugar version was surprisingly pleasant to drink considering its caffeine content which was much needed in line! Thanks man!

Chris and Rob soon made an appearance, unfortunately, I didn’t grab many photos of either, but I did get this snap of Rob proudly showing off his Mew along with the Summoning sticker given to him by the community! This really brought a smile to everyone’s face and anyone in the discord will know the power of this summoning circle!

(Editted) - I totally forgot to mention I met @Anonymous142 again as well! After a tooth extract this legend still made the drop and had an awesome pair of glasses which were totally true to the “Fresh Eyes” ethos!

Around 12pm, everything started ramping up, more of the team appeared, the queue had started to draw attention from the public eyes and before I knew it, spray paint was out on Fresh Eyes shirts! I was fortunate to get number 1 which matched my hoodie and I did quickly change into it once the paint was dry!

Next up was the store! Seeing the products and getting my order in! I also picked up a jumper while in store and the time flew by while there! There was a photo booth, ice cream and so many members of the community and team to meet, it was a whirlwind, but a lot of fun. I was fortunate enough to hop into a photo with @Derren and Carl which was a delight!

I’m sure I’ve missed loads from the day and I cannot wait for the next event I can get to, but I’d love to hear everyone else’s stories below! A huge shout-out to everyone who I met that day, every team member brought brilliant energy and every community member was a joy to talk to.

      • I had the most awesome time in London! Four Quarters provided a great meeting point with lots to do! It was so cool to meet so many new faces (even though I may know their Discord profile pictures!)

I spent too long socializing to grab that many pictures, though I do have some videos of Rob shredding at Guitar Hero as well as Louis and @Ealesy101 dancing away on DDR that I may have to see if I can share! (I’ll update here or the discord!)

Mario Kart on the N64 was obviously a standout, as well as Golden Eye. But it was so cool to get to play on some of the Arcade Machines that I don’t have access to! I’ll definitely be considering returning to a Four Quarters soon!

As always, thanks so much to Rob and Natalie for organising! And thank you to the community for being as brilliant to be around in person as they are online! 💓

      • Last night, the Nothing Community met simultaneously in two cities for social events in London and Milan. 🇬🇧🇮🇹

Over the past few months, it’s been wonderful to meet so many Community members at events such as the Phone (2) drops, the CMF by Nothing drops, and at our London Design Festival activities. Finally, we got the Community together for two dedicated Community events, and they were wonderful!

Here in London, we took over half of the iconic arcade bar, Four Quarters, for an evening of retro arcade games, great food, and even had a games master organise a Mario Kart tournament on the N64. @Ealesy101 must have the vision of a hawk, as he won first prize! 🥇

Unless you’re in the Nothing office, I’m not sure where we’d find this many Nothing Phones in one room, so we had to take the opportunity to take a Glyph group photo with a mixture of Phone (1) and Phone (2). We also discovered lots of Community members wearing the CMF by Nothing Watch Pro!

Over in Milan, some of our Europe team welcomed guests to Co-Foundry and hosted a fun Nothing quiz, where the guests who had the deepest knowledge of Nothing also won some fun prizes. Attendees sampled lots of different canapés over rich conversations about all things Nothing. This was the first Nothing Community event to be held in Europe (aside from the UK), which made the evening all the more special! A big thank you to Caio, Juanjose and Mark who made it all happen. We also heard that a dinosaur attended…

The Nothing Team are always so excited to meet our Community. We’d like to thank every single Community member who attended the event - we know that some of you travelled very far to be with us! Keep an eye out for future Community events - we’d love to welcome everyone back, and meet even more new faces! 🤗

        • On Saturday 30 September, CMF by Nothing Drops took place in the UK and India: at Nothing Store Soho and Superkicks, Delhi. These were the first chances to pick up CMF by Nothing devices anywhere in the world ahead of the upcoming global release.

@Natalie ✨ and I swung by the London store to catch up with a few familiar faces and to hear the reactions from those trying the products for the first time. When we arrived there was already an impressive queue down the street…a great early indicator that CMF by Nothing has caught some attention!

In the store itself we were met with some great new visuals on the flip dot display, new window vinyls and of course a bright pop of orange from the products on the central play table. The store also arranged a DJ to keep the vibes up whilst customers ex

A big shoutout to everyone we spoke to and props to @MaxSoliman @Anonymous142 and @Ealesy101 for being some of the most ardent regulars to our drops!

If you attended either of the drops, be sure to share your experience below and any pictures you snapped!
