  • Froakie - #656 is where I made it to in my streak on the Nothing Discord, again thanks to @Daniel for setting up the streak system, enabling everyone to capture a new pokemon for each day they hold their streak, working your way up from Bulbasaur!

I wrote a post at the one-year mark of my streak, 365 Streak. I did this because I had been holding my streak since the streak system was implemented, which meant that I and a few others were the cap on the whole thing 😆 I wrote about where Nothing was and what we were looking forward to in the community.

Now, ~291 days later, I thought I’d do something similar. I had planned to do this at the two-year mark, but a bad day and a severe case of brain fog meant I lost my streak! I’m going to take this as an opportunity to get more involved when I am; I fell into days of just sending “good morning chat” to keep my streak, but not engaging much more than that. @Derren expressed losing the streak as liberating, and I think I feel similar. The Discord and Nothing Community forum feel more like a place for me to share my opinion, rather than engaging for a streak’s sake, so while I may not post every day, I’ll try and be more engaged when I am online, post more in #Food&Drink, write up my thoughts on Nothing.Community more and maybe even try my hand at some photography!

So, Ear and Ear(a) launched, @RohitPakalapati was our newly appointed CBO (who did a stellar job!) and we were all awaiting details of the Community Edition Phone(2a). What we didn’t know was CMF Phone(1), Nothing Phone(2a) Plus, Nothing Apparel Drop 2, Ear(Open) were all yet to come! (I’m sure I’ve missed some things in there). Another thing to callout is NOS3.0! I think the software on all the devices has grown massively and we’re now starting to see exciting features like Essential Space that will hopefully set Nothing apart from the rest of the Android market!

With @adbo now at the CBO helm, Phone(3a) having just launched, Phone(3a) Pro coming this weekend, I’m eager to see what comes of 2025, but also for the rest of the streak holders going strong! @Louis ☕️ @MachoNachoBot and @WarBringer are breaking new ground, @Ealesy101 and others hot on their heels keeping them accountable! I’ll still be in the discord and here, but free of my streak, I’m going to try and contribute better each time 🎆

  • Hello,

I’ve just read Carl ’s announcement about the Dots.

I have a black dot because I invested in Nothing for 2nd round. Unfortunately, I can no longer access the Discord channel as I was banned from it following a disagreement.

So I can’t do anything and I’m wondering how I can claim for my voucher to use on nothing.tech.
I hope a head moderator will allow me access to Discord, otherwise I’ll lose my voucher.
Thanks in advance for a answer.

    If @Louis ☕️ , @adbo or @Rob ⚡️ , any of you read my post 😉

    • Jean replied to this.
    • @Louis ☕️ My post was not about “Too many phones this year”. I want people to share their thoughts (and you to read them) on specifically what I described. Please, make it separated.

    • Hey Community,

I’m excited to share the fantastic experience we had during the recent Nothing Community Photowalk in London, where we got hands-on with the newly launched CMF Phone (1) before its release. Even though the phones were enclosed in cases, we were more excited about how the camera would perform, especially considering the value proposition of the CMF Phone (1).

It was around 6:00 in the evening when everyone gathered at the Soho store. The community team— @Mattia ☀️, @Rob ⚡️, and @Natalie ✨—was there, along with familiar faces from the community. @Louis ☕️, our previous board observer, Daniel Wang, and @Allelujah, who always make time for these events, were present. Dmitry Novikov, a well-known photographer and community member, joined us, as did @Will.M, who had recently finished his A-levels and was enthusiastic about trying the phone. @lewis_morfitt, the Soho Store Manager and avid photographer, was there to host the photowalk. After signing NDAs and collecting the phones, we made our introductions and were ready to start. Lewis gave us a rough route map for the day, and with the weather looking perfect, we headed out. Zac Young from the store also joined us.

Our first stop was Golden Square, where Lewis explained some things about the CMF Phone (1)'s camera, including how to use the settings and some tips for framing and composition. He also talked about the single-camera setup and the purpose of the second lens. We took some photos there before moving on to Savile Row for some street photography, heading towards Berkeley Square.

On the way, I overheard Daniel and Dmitry talking about Dmitry’s Zero Cam app, which I had recently started using. I introduced myself again, mentioning that I’d been following him on X for a while, and told him how much I loved his app.

We reached Berkeley Square, which was perfect for some light and shadow play. After taking some pictures there, we headed towards Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park, walking through Mount Street Gardens and capturing more shots along the way. During the walk, I chatted with Will, who seemed impressed with the CMF Phone’s camera quality. We talked about how he discovered nothing and what products brought him into the ecosystem.

At Speaker’s Corner, we met our friendly model for the day and started the portrait session. The sunny, bustling atmosphere was ideal for testing the camera. We spent some time there before exploring the park for more photo opportunities. I had a chance to talk with Zac about how he ended up at the Nothing store, and I also had an insightful conversation with Louis about his experience as a CBO.

Our last stop was Serpentine Bridge in Hyde Park, where we took some final photos and gathered for a group shot. As the sun was setting, we headed to a pub to celebrate and discuss our experiences with the CMF Phone (1)'s camera capabilities.

I was personally impressed with the camera, especially considering the phone’s price point. Most of the group had similar positive experiences, though we noticed some inconsistencies here and there. It’s important to remember these weren’t final devices, but I’m confident it’s a decent camera for the price.

We ended the day with wonderful conversations around the table before parting ways. While we were there to test the camera and get an early experience, for me, these photowalks are more about the conversations and time spent together. A huge thanks to the community team for organising this and to Lewis for being an excellent guide.

Here are some photos I took during the photowalk using the CMF Phone (1). For others who were there, feel free to share the photos you took here.

Until next time, keep exploring and stay connected!

      Cheers!

    • I planned to get down today earlier then I did - 10:45am - and the store opened at 11:00am - I thought I would be way in the back of the queue. However, to my surprise, the road was eerily quiet, like some Zombie invasion was happening. I got to the store and I was pretty much the 1st person in the queue!!!

Well technically, there was a nice fellow from Japan who may have been there first? and I did offer him the space. He was ok about it all and turned out to be a mobile phone blogger / journalist covering the event and asked me if he could take some photos of me for his article in Japan. Domo Arigato Mr Roboto - Tokyo here I come!

Opening time and there were a few more people in line and we all managed to get inside quickly and easily. Inside was the ice-cream parlour dishing out CMF styled flavours in cups & cones. Hardcore partakers of these events may recognise these purveyors of tasty treats from previous drops . There were some delicatable flavours indeed and I do love a good Gelato.

Stracciatella / Mint Choc anyone? The Mint Choc goes great with the Light Green CMF Phone 1 - a tasty combo indeed!!! Perhaps Mango Ear A is more your flavour?

They were all very nice - but we are hear to look at the new Phone 1, Buds Pro 2 and Watch Pro 2 aren’t we? right - we didn’t just come for ice-cream? I turned to have a look at the new products when all of a sudden a wild @Akis appeared! An amazing surprise to be sure and great to say hi as always - although he seemed pretty tired I imagine from the flight over from India.

I let this Pokemon go and continued on my merry way checking out the merchandise as they say. The in-store offer was the same as the online pre-order, 14% off the phone 1 and other items when bundled. This included further savings on the Phone 1, Buds Pro 2, Watch Pro 2 and the accessories which I was surprised were available like the kick stand, blue / green cases and the Dark Grey Bezel & Blue Leather Strap set. What’s the motto - gotta collect ’em all? right? so I did.

Ater securing the goods - I heard there was a chance to win fame, glory and fortune as the fastest screw in town - hey hey - who could screw the case onto the phone 1! This was happening downstairs and participating entrants received a new CMF by Nothing T-Shirt telling you to "Scew It’ - it’s actually pretty neat.

This was filmed for posterity - and I signed the release form - so let’s see if I made the cut. I managed a time of 46 seconds which seemed respectable but sadly wasn’t fast enough to win a phone 1. You could say I was screwed!!!

Before I left, I grabbed a final ice-cream, to go, in a cone, and bumped into @Louis ☕️ and his son which was a nice surprise.

My haul for the day and thanks to @lewis_morfitt who suggested I grab the Dark Grey Watch Pro 2 and the Blue Leather Strap & Bezel set to make a complete package vs getting the Blue Leather Watch Pro 2.

I’ve got the watch, in Dark Grey, flat & round bezels, plus black & blue straps!. I went for the light green Phone 1 and opted for a blue case, so have the options and completed the look with blue Buds Pro 2. For a splash of pizazz chuck in the orange kickstand to boot.

      • RohitPakalapati For myself both plattforms are too different to say one is better than the other or I prefer one more than the other. Both fulfill different purposes and attract a different audience. I see so many people on here who are not on discord and vice versa but also many who are on both. I think @adbo and @Louis ☕️ pointed it out pretty good already.

Discord is super much fun for every day talk and casual conversation. It also enables the opportunity to interact directly with community members and get instant responses.

The community site on the other hand is way better for long term topics and discussions.

I just would like to see a deeper integration between both. How? No idea to be honest.

Regarding X/Twitter: I’ve never been a huge fan of it since it existed and mostly used it to get updates about people or companies I follow without beeing super active myself. (Same for instagram etc.)

      • @Louis ☕️ @Ealesy101 Wait. It seems like either of you guys didn’t understand what was originally said or you didn’t read it at all. And some of the above message is taking some of the stuff I said out of context. I did not say anything negative towards @Louis ☕️ and I did not violate any community guidelines. I also did not specifically mention any entry in my original comment or called it bad. It has all been respectful on my end.

Please refer the original comment and check the thread - stealth

In my original comment, I provided a solution and later in conversation with Louis referenced Rahil’s design as a great example of meeting the brief’s requirements. It is important to read and understand the brief, which clearly states (in the very second line actually) the need for a packaging design that makes a wonderful FIRST impression and represents the product effectively.

I believe that the glow-in-the-dark designs may not effectively convey a wonderful first impression as they require a dark environment to be completely seen. The solution, in my opinion, lies in simplicity.

Regarding the “special” feel for the box, this is not the special edition. This is the “community edition” I suggest incorporating elements that highlight the contributions of the community, similar to Rahil’s design with the representation of the community stages as he has done on the back of the box. Alek has done something of the sort too.

I just wish more submissions would focus on what actually is important here.

Overall, I believe that a focus on simplicity and incorporating community elements will lead to a more effective and impactful packaging design for the product instead of “Hold the box in the dark and see the other side” kind of designs.

I would love to end this here as well. My point was already made in the first comment. But this was taken very differently than what was intended.

      • Krrr Our former Community Board Observer @Louis ☕️ was the best for his invaluable dedication and insightful contributions during his tenure..

His commitment to fostering transparency and advocating for community interests has truly made a difference last year…e.g. (NP1 & OTHER ACCESSORIES)
Now I regret my decision for not voting for him. 💔
Best wishes to him as he is an insider in nothing team & more.

      • I am well aware of the community guidelines. The moderator, @Louis ☕️ (EX Community Board Observer), warned me about tagging without reason,
However, despite tagging and mentioning the reasons in this thread, there has been no response from anyone.

The context of the discussion was about FPS support in BGMI. The moderator and the team have remained silent on this matter.

Previously, I informed them that I have connections as a YouTuber to reach the BGMI official handle. What I get to know or gleaned from the situation is that the problem originates from the Nothing brand itself. They have not properly documented their data configuration and have failed to address this issue internally via BGMI .

As a customer of this brand , utilizing Snapdragon 8+ Gen1, I have the right to inquire about underclocking and overclocking scenarios on the forum. The purpose of the forum is not to plead for our needs but to serve as an open platform provided by the brand itself for acknowledging and addressing updates and issues. I’ve observed that this forum has predominantly transformed into a platform for pleading for various implementations. What’s the point of the forum if issues are not addressed by moderators or if it’s unclear whether the current CBO is discussing them in meetings or not? As both a content creator and a professional gamer, I ask: what’s the next step? It has been eight months now since NP2 LAUNCH.

While I typically refrain from unboxing or reviewing brands on my channel, I must express my dissatisfaction with the experience I’ve had with this particular brand, particularly concerning the moderators and customer support executives. Thankyou .

From 7 months I’m waiting patiently for this guidance and assistance regarding this particular issue, even though when Android 14 was released i thought that will unlock the Graphics Frame rate ,but unfortunately It was the same ,
I know your team is working efficiently on many sides of the optimisation but do consider To unlock this Frame Rate ,In comparison with low-end devices with other brands are running 90 fps smoothly.

Although i had contacted with Game Developer and on there official forums They clearly Mentioned This Particular issue is taking time from the Nothing Brand itself, they haven’t unlocked from their end they haven’t given the permission to UNLOCK it’s frame rate with configuration of all data which are provided by nothing Team .

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone with expertise @RohitPakalapati @Louis ☕️ could provide some insights to enhance & unlock its performance.

Additionally, if there are specific settings or configurations that I should be aware of, please share them but the game developer will Restrict if i use any third party method to unlock or using GFX ,
It would be very kind if the Nothing Brand unlock this configuration of Frame rate ,

Thank you in advance for your help!
Your insights will be invaluable in improving my experience with BGMI/PUBG by providing Us with the support of 90FPS.
